About Me

Well, I've had the same fricken words up here for over a year now so I figure it's time to change them around a bit. Born in Yuma, Arizona, grew up and currently live in Modesto, CA. Up until October of 2005, I wasn't doing jack squat! Went to school for a couple of years but that didn't do any good. But then, I went into this government service program called Americorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) for ten months and had some of the best times of my life. I did everything from helping special edu. children, building homes, mucking homes for huricane Katrina victims and improving schools in the Washington DC area. Met and worked with some very cool, interesting, and weird people. Now I'm working for the California Conservation Corps and am currently applying to be a team leader for Americorps NCCC for this next year. Eventually, I want to go back to school and try to get my teaching credential. That is all!

My Interests

I love to play the drums. Been playing for 11 years. Got a brand new set over a year and a half ago. Just got it payed off right before I came to D.C. actually. Was in a band for over a year but that fell through. Oh well, shit happens. I also love to go backpacking and hicking. There's nothing like walking on 8 to 12 miles worth of trail in one day, on extreme uphill terrain (or in some cases, extreme downhill terrain), hiking with 50 pound packs on your back in over 90 degree tempurtures, or dealing with sixteen hours straight of non-stop pouring down rain and cold tempurtures at night and last but not least, almost getting killed by a couple of dead trees! You talk about funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn shit! Good times.

Music:

I'm pretty much in to all types of music except for what I can't stand at all! That would be rap, modern country, disco, and soft/pop rock shit. Anything else is pretty much oki-doki with me, although I like rock music the best, mostly hard/metal rock and classic rock. Some of the bands I like is The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Greatful Dead, Motely Crue, Nine Inch Nails, Creadence Clearwater Revival, Godsmack, Disturbed, Static-X, Korn, Neil Young, Metalica, Pantera, the Who, the Cars, Bush, Moe, Elton John, Alice in Chains, Peral Jam, Audioslave, Evanescence, Bryan Adams, Sound Garden, The Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Spin Doctors, Nirvana, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Heart, Black Sabbeth, Ozzy Osborne, Stone Temple Piolits, Cream, Eric Clapton (but can't stand Lay La or I Shot the Sherrif), Lynard Skinner (Free Bird being the only song I never get tired of), the Pretenders, Drowning Pool, Puddle of Mudd, Van Halen (the David Lee Roth stuff), Pink Floyd, the Doors, the Tubes, Jimi Hendrex, Papa Roach, Rob Zombie, Mudvayne, Megadeath, System of a Down, White Zombie, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Sublime, Rage against the Machine, U2, Kittie, Deep Purple, ZZ Top, Supertramp, Genises, Frank Zappa, Rush. That's all I can think of for now.

Movies:

I'm not much of a movie watcher but I love to see almost any action, comedy, some drama, and horror flicks. I love all the Harry Potter movies, all the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movies, all the Star Wars movies, pretty much all Stephen King-based movies, Kidergarden Cop, Thunderheart, the Birds, most all John Wayne flicks, and other old classics. This is a pretty short list.

Television:

Don't watch that much T.V. anymore. The only shows I watch regually is The Price is Right, M*A*S*H, Becker, Whose Line is it Anyways?, and 24. I love watching the old cartoons too, like Looney Toons, Animaniacs, Tom and Jerry. I also love watching stand-up comedy. Comidians like George Carlin, Bill Cosby, Larry the Cable Guy, Jerry Sienfeld, Lewis Black, and other similar comidians that I watch on Comedy Central sometimes.

Books:

I love all the Harry Potter books. I'm a big Stephen King fan, and I like the classics too, like Dracula, The Count of Monte Cristo, Withering Heights, the Tell-Tale Heart, The Call of the Wild, and other classics. But lately, I've been reading books by a guy named Dean Koontz, who's a lot like Stephen King but his story's are more mystery and suspense and more pyschological. I've read only two but they are both very disturbing in that advanced technology, man, and the human mind are used in very shitty ways.

Heroes:

Well, if I had any heroes, one of them would have to be my dad, who's been my inspiration throughout my entire life, as well as the rest of my family. Also, all my friends I've made here in Americorps, who have been with me every step of the way through this long, incredible journey. Last but not least, Jack Baur, because he's the shit! You don't know Jack!
