About Me
Love all - trust few - do wrong to none
Tell me not, in mournful numbers
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
and things are not what they seem
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art; to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.

.:The recipe for perpetual ignorance is a very simple and effective one:
be satisfied with your opinions and content with your knowledge:.
.:Do not condemn the judgment of another because it differs from your own -
you may both be wrong:.
i find beauty in virtually everything.
i believe everyone is equal and i treat people so.
most people i've loved have hurt me, God always helps me, and my parents have my utmost respect.
i had the most amazing parents in the world, and i miss my father to the point where my heart bleeds.
the treatment of animals in this culture makes me cry.
i am not perfect.
i read every night before going to bed.
i could read shakespeare for hours at a time, and the only thing that would pry me away from one of his plays is japanese food.
i made a promise never to hurt someone intentionally.
i believe it is better to suffer pain than inflict it.
i am envious of my father's mind, and his persistence to succeed.
learning one new word a day lifts up my morale.
i am teaching myself how to cope with life's hurdles.
i love to learn.
the more i learn, the more i realize how little i know.
i think the biggest tragedy of life is when people approach knowledge as a burden, and not a gift.
always remember, the roots of knowledge may be bitter, but the fruits are sweet.
i believe good first impressions are vital.
i can't stand when people think they know. knowing you know nothing makes you the smartest of all.
i am not ashamed to confess that i am ignorant of what i do not know.
i change my mind often.
i always doubt.
convictions are more dangerous enemies of truth than lies.
if you would be a real seeker of truth, you must at least once in your life doubt, as far as possible, all things.
I learned that from philosophy.
there are very few things in this world i dislike more than vanity - beauty is fleeting! learn to be humble and grateful for what you have.
how strange of an illusion it is to suppose that beauty is external.
i'm not sure anyone knows who i am.
i am always misunderstood.
i love friends who can make me smile.
it amazes me how fixated people are with material things.
a louis vuitton purse is dead animal skin. a diamond is a shiny rock. Why people choose to ornament their surroundings with these meaningless, artificial trinkets is beyond my conception.
a donkey carrying all the wealth of the world on its back is, nevertheless, a donkey.
i wish more people would (could) see that.
i admire people who love learning, and believe they deserve the highest respect.
i think love is beautiful.
my ideal date would be surpise tickets to hear a symphony.
i still find the passing of time to be a mystery.
i don't care who you are or what you do, i am not easily impressed.
what i long for in a partner may seem impossible to find, but i will.
i want a man who illuminates one of my favorite quotes, "whatever souls are made of, his and mine are the same..."
I am a firm believer in second chances.
i believe there is no revenge so complete as forgiveness.
i am a closed book yearning to be opened, and read.
.:The man who has no inner life is a slave to his surroundings:.
.:Knowledge is the best of all wealth; it is easy to carry, thieves cannot steal it, the tyrants cannot seize it, neither water nor fire can destroy it, and far from decreasing, it increases by giving:.
.:* Anyway *:.
People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self centered
Forgive them anyway
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives
Be kind anyway
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies
Succeed anyway
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you
Be honest and frank anyway
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight
Build anyway
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous
Be happy anyway
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow
Do good anyway
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be good enough
Give the best you've got anyway
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God...
It was never between you and them anyway...
In loving memory of Pope John Paul II
May your beautiful soul rest in peace

"I hold it true, whate'er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all."

. . . : : Alfred Lord Tennyson : : . . .
i have lost track of the world
with which i used to waste so much time
it has heard nothing of me for so long
it may well think i am dead
and for me, it is no concern at all
if it treats me as dead
nor can i say anything against it
for in truth, i am dead to the world
i am dead to the "hurly-burly" of the world
and take my rest in a place of quietness
i live alone in my heaven
in my loving, in my song
I AM: very sensitive
I THINK: constantly
I WANT: to learn as much as I can
I HAVE: the best parents in the world
I WISH: that I will look back at my life one day and be proud
I MISS: my father :(
I FEAR: spiders and men
I SEARCH: for the "why"
I WONDER: if I will ever find a man who won't break my heart
I REGRET: lighting up my first cigarette
I LOVE: making people happy
I HATE: being sad
I CARE: about all animals deeply
I CRY: very easily
I ALWAYS: pray to my father for strength
I AM NOT: perfect
I FIGHT: for those who cannot defend themselves
I WRITE: about things I dont understand
I LOSE: myself daydreaming
I CONFUSE: myself constantly
I KNOW: that if confusion is the first step towards knowledge,
i must be a genius
I NEED: to have more faith
I BELIEVE: in God
God won't ask what kind of car you drove.
He'll ask how many people you drove who didn't have transportation.
God won't ask how big your house was
He'll ask how many people you welcomed into your home
God won't ask about the clothes you had in your closet
He'll ask how many you helped to clothe by sharing your own
God won't ask what your highest salary was
He'll ask if you compromised your character to obtain it
God won't ask what your job title was
He'll ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability
God won't ask how many friends you had
He'll ask how many people to whom you were a friend
God won't ask in what neighborhood you lived
He'll ask how you treated your neighbors, and how many strangers to whom you were kind
How far that little candle throws its beams!
so shines a good dead in a weary world...
- William Shakespeare
The Merchant of Venice
A young woman was in complete despair, and seeing no way out, she dropped to her knees in prayer. "Lord, I can't go on... I have too heavy a cross to bear."
The Lord replied "My daughter, if you can't bear its weight, just place your cross inside this room. Then, open that door and pick out any cross you wish."
She was filled with relief and said, "Thank you Lord," and she did as she was told.
Upon entering the other room, she saw many crosses - some so large the tops were not visible. Then she spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far wall.
"I'd like that one, Lord," she whispered.
The Lord whispered back, "My daughter, that is the cross you just brought in."
When I do count the clock that tells the time,
And see the brave day sunk in hideous night;
When I behold the violet past prime,
And sable curls, all silvered o'er with white;
When lofty trees I see barren of leaves,
Which erst from heat did canopy the herd,
And summer's green all girded up in sheaves,
Borne on the bier with white and bristly beard,
Then of thy beauty do I question make,
That thou among the wastes of time must go ,
Since sweets and beauties do themselves forsake
And die as fast as they see others grow;
And nothing 'gainst Time's scythe can make defence
Save breed, to brave him when he takes thee hence.
- William Shakespeare, Sonnet 12
(one of the most beautiful literary works of art i've ever read...)
When in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes
I all alone beweep my outcast state,
And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries,
And look upon myself, and curse my fate,
Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
Featured like him, like him with friends possessed,
Desiring this man's art, and that man's scope,
With what I most enjoy contented least;
Yet in these thoughts my self almost despising,
Haply I think on thee, and then my state,
Like to the lark at break of day arising
From sullen earth, sings hymns at heaven's gate;
For thy sweet love remembered such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings.
- William Shakespeare, Sonnet 29
We don't need more money, we don't need greater success or fame, we don't need the perfect body or even the perfect mate. Right now, at this very moment, we have a mind , which is all the basic equipment we need to achieve complete happiness .
