Familia, Music, & Food - not always in that order, but I have much love for all of the above!
All I really can say is: If you cool peeps, then we can kick it all the time - I welcome one and all!
Since I DJ, I love all kinds of music. They say that a song is defined by how one views life, so music is a window to other cultures. From Rap to Rock, Country to Cumbias - music is a window of ones life and their surroundings to listen & develop appreciation for all in this world. Now that I got off the soapbox, I try to mix all types of jams. Hip Hop, House, Old School Funk, Dancehall, Electro, Reggaeton, Bollywood Beats, & Bhangra!
I love when people ask me this, for I always look forward to letting everyone know that my Mom and Dad are my heros with all my heart and soul! Without them, there would be no me. They both come from nothing, to establishing themselves to live the "American Dream". My father, Salvador Sr - immigrated from Mexico when he was 15, sent here by his parents to start working and earning for the familia. My mother, Hazel - was born in a dirt house in the fields of Delano, CA and was a farmworker at age 5. Both my mom and dad worked to the bone and instilled strong values of: determination, perserverance, honor, and respect to be able to drive myself to be whoever I wanted to be. They have been married for over 55 years - my dad is 83 and my mom is going to be 80 this year. Both are fun and feisty as ever! Raising 6 children: 4 sisters, my brother and me. She made sure that whe rasing us, she showed equal parts toughness, patience, and love. She cracks up every time I tell her: Mom, your a tough chick! My dad is always wheelin and dealin' - he loves to fix and sell stuff. He can fix anything! That's where I get my hustle from. My dad would work 12 hrs a day all week, then come home and take on side projects for other companies with all my sisters and brother on an assembly line at the house - all of us earning, then he would sell sewing maching at the Flea Markets in San Jose Saturdays and Sundays ALL DAY! Even though this was ALOT of working, he was around for all of us. So I try with every beat of my heart and every breath that is in me, I dedicate my life to their teachings and to be able to someday be as strong and loving as they are. I don't use these words to often, for they have great respect and meaning to me, but I will say this with no hesitation to my parents every time I see them: I Love You.
