About Me

I'm updating this as of 1/22/08 for my original page was deleted today. Not sure why, but i'll find out soon. sorry about rambling and all that - Wussup Peeps! My name is Sal and preside in San Jose, CA. I have been DJing since I was 15 years old here in the Bay Area, so in this case - hella years! My journey as a DJ has allowed me to learn a great deal of knowledge on the many facets of the business. From humble beginnings of playing at house parties, to running a service for hire, to performing for weddings, nightclubs, raves, corporate functions, & gentlemen’s clubs. I have been blessed with the opportunity to provide musical creativity in these settings and still strive to contiune to play: music non-stop! My next evolution in this process is maintaining a constistant studio presence. During my formitive years in the DJ field, I was also working on my studio prowlness which started first with mixtapes in the neighborhood, to producing tracks for other artists, documentaries, & even porno soundtracks, to being involved in a rap group: ASP Organization. This was an awesome learning experience in my life, for I learned a great deal of knowlege on the following aspects of this field: writing and producing music, manufacturing and distribution of units, promotions and marketing, and touring on the road (Cali). I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to do this with all 7 members of the crew, knowing all the members since I was a kid - going on this amazing journey of DJing parties and performing up and down the state, always with a crazy story to tell! I definetly grew up a great deal with the crew - crreativly and in life. The cool thing about this, even though we went on our separate journeys of life, we're still tight and thick as thieves! Now I still DJ events, but now I have been working with an Indian DJ company called Toofan Sounds (www.toofansounds.com). Those cats keep me hella busy on the weekends! I have accepted another musical challenge by learning Bollywood and Bhangra jams and rocking a whole differnet crowd. These weddings are very intricate and precise, so working in this environment has been challenging and awesome - learning about another culture while being under pressure to deliver a non-stop delivery of music non-stop thoughout the day AND night! And if that was not enough, I am back in the studio currently working on another mixx-CD series, tentivley called "Civic-mixx with DJ El Static". Hopefully I will have this done in a few months, but I will let my "My Space Peeps" know, yoo knooow!!!
I made this music player at MyFlashFetish .com.

My Interests

Familia, Music, & Food - not always in that order, but I have much love for all of the above!

I'd like to meet:

All I really can say is: If you cool peeps, then we can kick it all the time - I welcome one and all!

Music:

Since I DJ, I love all kinds of music. They say that a song is defined by how one views life, so music is a window to other cultures. From Rap to Rock, Country to Cumbias - music is a window of ones life and their surroundings to listen & develop appreciation for all in this world. Now that I got off the soapbox, I try to mix all types of jams. Hip Hop, House, Old School Funk, Dancehall, Electro, Reggaeton, Bollywood Beats, & Bhangra!

Heroes:

I love when people ask me this, for I always look forward to letting everyone know that my Mom and Dad are my heros with all my heart and soul! Without them, there would be no me. They both come from nothing, to establishing themselves to live the "American Dream". My father, Salvador Sr - immigrated from Mexico when he was 15, sent here by his parents to start working and earning for the familia. My mother, Hazel - was born in a dirt house in the fields of Delano, CA and was a farmworker at age 5. Both my mom and dad worked to the bone and instilled strong values of: determination, perserverance, honor, and respect to be able to drive myself to be whoever I wanted to be. They have been married for over 55 years - my dad is 83 and my mom is going to be 80 this year. Both are fun and feisty as ever! Raising 6 children: 4 sisters, my brother and me. She made sure that whe rasing us, she showed equal parts toughness, patience, and love. She cracks up every time I tell her: Mom, your a tough chick! My dad is always wheelin and dealin' - he loves to fix and sell stuff. He can fix anything! That's where I get my hustle from. My dad would work 12 hrs a day all week, then come home and take on side projects for other companies with all my sisters and brother on an assembly line at the house - all of us earning, then he would sell sewing maching at the Flea Markets in San Jose Saturdays and Sundays ALL DAY! Even though this was ALOT of working, he was around for all of us. So I try with every beat of my heart and every breath that is in me, I dedicate my life to their teachings and to be able to someday be as strong and loving as they are. I don't use these words to often, for they have great respect and meaning to me, but I will say this with no hesitation to my parents every time I see them: I Love You.
