About Me

I am PASSIONATE for what I do and want to become. God is number one in my life. I believe that we all have a purpose. The battle is finding out what that purpose is. I grew up with both my mother and father. My Grandfather is the one who raised me. He helped me strengthen my talents as an artist in which God has blessed me with. I drew pictures, painted landscapes, learned composition at a very early age. I always was up for a challenge and for what better way to challenge myself than to direct a motion picture. Nothing has changed. I can still draw, I can still paint. Now is the time to make a picture come to life. I know how to interpret emotion with people. I know I can help the audience express their inner emotions by touching lives. I want to help people make changes for the better so they realize how important life really is and how its a priveledge, most importantly a gift to us given by God. My names Joe Pomarico. This is the real me.THE WATCH -- My Grandfather was an artist. He painted all kinds of landscapes, seascapes, etc.. At the young age of 7, I wanted to learn how to paint, so I asked my Grandfather to teach me. He smiled and set up the eisle, paints, water, canvas, and the brushes. I sat beside him and he showed me how to use the tools to complete an entire painting. It developed my skills in perspective, composition, and depth. At 7 my artwork was at a junior high level. In junior high my work was put in an exhibit where only adults can enter. I always wanted to be challenged. I continued my work all through high school, but during that time my Grandfather was getting ill. He would sleep more and wasn't able to do as much. April 2001, my Grandfather made a decision to give me this watch (his watch). I never wore it, but it was always in sight. Every now and then I would look at the watch and noticed that the time on it was slowing down. I thought about it.. A year later August 21, 2002 approximately 11:15 at night my Grandfather woken my Grandmother and asked her to put his socks on because his feet were cold. She put his socks on his feet and went back to bed. She heard gargling sounds and quickly looked up at my Grandfather and he took a deep breath, so she was relieved that he was ok and went back to sleep. 4 in the morning she woke up, my Grandfather was already gone. I searched for that watch for 2 weeks. Somehow it disappeared. I found it and what I predicted was true. It STOPPED at 11:25. Since I found that watch it has never left my pocket. I DO NOT LEAVE MY HOUSE WITHOUT IT AND I WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP IT WITH ME FOR AS LONG AS I'M HERE AND WILL PASS IT ON TO MY GRANDSON WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT. ----THIS IS MY STORY ABOUT THE WATCH.....I'LL NEVER FORGET HIS LAST WORDS TO ME. "KEEP THE FAITH" RIP GRANDPA

BIOGRAPHYJoe Pomarico aka Joe Da Director was born in West Babylon, New York. Joe's personality is a rare one. He knows how to make people laugh and leaves off a good vibe within his surroundings. He cares alot about the people in his life. Growing up as a child only watching TV and movies Joe knew exactly what he wanted to do with his life. He wasn’t like any other kid. During the summer when his friends would be out in the pool he would be in his room trying to act out and master impersonations of celebrities. This led to his ability of acting and love for filmmaking. When Joe was in Junior High, him and his friends would take his parents video camera and make short films. With no knowledge of editing they would use their creativity to edit with the camera itself. He knew how to bring in a crowd. High school hit and Joe wasn’t doing well. He was having a problem focusing in class. Instead he would doodle in his book, paying no attention to the teacher. Did you know that Steven Spielberg was the same way? “I was always a quiet kid in school, because my mind would constantly run with ideas and I would always see things from a different perspective even though my eyes don’t see it; I would make every little boring thing interesting; basically watching my life as a movie” says Joe. His main goal in life is to become a Hollywood movie director. His plan is to touch lives with his film work. After High school Joe went on to a community college and hated it. He felt he wasn’t learning anything so he dropped out. He then worked 2 jobs, 13 hour days, 5 days a week. Life was getting really stressful for him. He knew there was more to life than this. He had a passion, so he went for it. He quit his jobs and began at Katharine Gibbs School for his Associates Degree in Digital Film. The end of his first semester he handed in his final which was a short film project that he directed, acted, produced, and edited. Thirty seconds into it his instructor stopped it and asked him if he has ever done this before. Joe has never touched editing software before this project. The instructor was surprised and told Joe if he keeps this up he is going to go really far. Since that remark his life was never the same. Students, instructors, administration, even the security guard would crowd around the computer to see his work. People wanted to work with him or be a part of his work. This continued throughout his whole college career. His instructors saw something in him that they never seen before from a student. He met a woman named Sharon Carrio, who worked for the education department. Any events that she set up for the school, he volunteered to help her out. She plays a big part in his life. Any problems Joe had he would go right to her and she’d be there to help him. He considers Sharon as a mother to him. He even bought her a card for mother's day. When Joe felt like nothing was working out she would break out the Brooklyn in her to get him back on his feet. “I don’t think I would be here if it wasn’t for Sharon, she has done so much for me because she believes in me and that’s why I call her my mother,” Joe states. During college he has had a lot of experience outside of school. He filmed a 500 person event which he directed, produced, shot, edited, graphics, etc. He also filmed an interview with Lynyrd Skynyrd and their concert on Long Island, but he never stopped making his short films. Joe can do it all. They say Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez can make their movies on their own. I would put Joe Pomarico in that category. People see him more like a Martin Scorcesse. He developed his own little fan base with the people around him. Just imagine the fan base he can produce when his name is on the big screen. In 2006 he received his Associates Degree. Joe was then introduced by a student to Dawn Cee of D3 Magazine/Productionz. He showed her some editing work and she loved it. Since then he became a big part of the D3 family. “What people don’t understand is that you can’t be where you want to be if you don’t sacrifice,” Joe says, “I couldn’t work a regular job because I started to lose my focus and I got scared I would be sucked in the life I didn’t want.” Joe’s parents separated in 2004, his parents didn’t like the fact he wasn’t working a part time job to bring in some kind of income. He has gone through a lot with people who has taken advantage of him, but he will always keep his head up and move on with his career and prove to everyone that he is a man of his word."I think about my life, I think about my dreams, I think about my pain, I think about my struggle, I think about my future, I think about who I'll spend the rest of my life with; Movie directing is my passion and I'm not going to do it for myself; I want to be able to support a family when the time is right; I want to give my children the things that I didn't get; I want to show people if you believe in yourself then anything is possible" -- Joe Pomarico
