About Me

Morningside Records is an independent label founded in 2001.
What we try to establish is an artist-driven channel through which the music (or the cartoon!) can be put out freely. As a framework Morningside Records enables the musicians to draw from eachother’s collective experiences and to find new playmates close-by. The idea is basic and definetly not new: United we stand to lift more, do better, get better and so on – all sharing an interest in and a passion for music (and/or what surrounds it: Fame, glamour, cocktailpartys and sex – or at least someone who’s constantly patting your back, telling you how great you are.)
We don’t want to be a secret (club). We want everyone to know about and listen to our music. It matters to us. What we don’t want is anyone to tell us what we need to do, just because it’s the way you do it in “the business”. That’s not a reason – whether ‘anyone’ is right or not.
The music is released on various formats – including CD-R, because the print-on-demand method makes certain things easier.
The money we make is spent on new releases.
