About Me

I believe in the power of creativity to affect positive change in the people around me. I believe in the beauty of mystery. I believe in hope, even in hopeless situations. I am married with one child, whom we homeschool. Theatre and acting are very important to me, as is music. I play many instruments, including piano and guitar, and have recently begun hammering away on the upright bass...makes me feel all cool, like I should be wearing shades and smoking a French cigarette. I have spiritual beliefs that are the driving force in my life, but rather than hit you over the head with them, I will nestle them within my heart. They are too precious to be squandered, and will only share them with people who I am in some sort of relationship with.

Jam Camp

I experienced my first Jam Camp. To my surprise, there was very little actual jam. No toast to speak of, either. Instead, from Friday after supper til Sunday after lunch, there was non-stop bluegrass ...

It's Over.

Saturday morning at 3:30 AM, my dad finally finished his battle. He died surrounded by his family, with no regrets and no loose ends. I will miss him, obviously. But I can't imagine a better way to go...

My Dad

Here I sit, listening to the rain pour down. My father is in hospital in town here, in the last difficult stages of pulmonary fibrosis. He was diagnosed four years ago, and has been in a slow decline ...

Artistic Integrity

OK. Here I am at the Edmonton Fringe, participating in a show run by Kathy. I am quite disgusted with the show, as it is overtly religious and poorly put together. Am I a professional? What would a p...

Family Reunions

K, this was a crazy week-end, a big family reunion on my mom's side of the family. We barely know most of them. There were some funny moments, many long dragged out boring moments, and I got to sing a...

Movie I Can't Wait to See

We saw a trailer for a movie last night called "Children of Men". Check out the trailer, it looks like a spooky twist on the apocolyptic-type movies, and it looks to be really well made. I know you ca...
