Biography
The Beginning:
"Born and raised in The City of "Sin", Las Vegas, NV, on the day where love is in the air and happiness surrounds you, Feb. 14th. Quite ironic if you ask me. I grew up with my Mother and Grandparents. A place where everyone from every side of the family, and every family friend called home. My grandparents have always had this amazing love and respect to give everyone that crossed their path. I still remember each day before I started a new grade in school, My Grams would always proclaim to me the importance of befriending everyone. People of all colors, races, beliefs, and popularity. She helped me see that everyone has something to offer in their own way. Now as an adult, I have the confidence to walk into a room of strangers, and leave with 50 new friends. I have a closeness to my family that is untouchable. I cherish each and everyone of them and am more than thankful for having them in my life. The day I can repay each one of them for everything they've done for me, will be the day I know I've accomplished my main goal in life."
The Determination
"I schooled for nine years in a catholic school by the name of St. Christopher's. I grew up with the same 30 so kids, all of which shared the same wardrobe of plaid maroon skirts, white collared shirt, and penny loafers. I still have a close connection with some, but am most thankful to have my best friend Naomi by my side after so many years. After 8th grade, I decided okay It's time to experience public school. High School was more of a social outlet for me. I made numerous friends, including 7 close gf's I'd do anything for and loved every second of it. Trying to find myself, was the most difficult task. High School always seemed to carry that one question, What's Next? I didn't know what was next. I knew that college wasn't exactly for me. I didn't see a reason in going to school and having to take all of the same courses I just took for 4 years. I decided, It was time to grow as a musician. I began interning for a local recording studio by the name of OneVibe Studios. I learned many production and engineering skills. Made great contacts, represented for women everywhere in a room full of men, and ran the promotions dept. I loved it. I learned it all on my own and was determined to only move forward."
The Journey
"With the knowledge I received at OneVibe, as well as running promotions for a local dinner theatre, and spending up to 3 hours a day on my piano...I knew it was time to move away. I have a list of places I want to live, and LA just happened to be the most convienent at the time. I did research for colleges in LA, and came across a great post production school in Burbank, CA. I moved and went to school with my amazing cousin Stephen. I learned editing of feature films for about nine months, before I realized I'm just not doing enough musically. I had my hand in nightclub promoting, but that was still difficult being as I was underage. So I bowed out gracefully, thankful for all the education for post prod. that I will take with me, and moved on. I began interning at a Music Publication Company, where I met and befriended some of the most genuine people LA has to offer. I was lucky. I learned so much. Some would call me a permanent intern. I appreciate free education, what can I say. I will work my ass off for you, learn everything I need to know in a short period of time, and know you will aid my future when needed. I've done pretty damn well so far."
Influences:
"My influences range in such a diverse way it's scary. My family of course, is number 1. My Grandparents, Parents, Siblings, Hundreds of Cousins/Aunts/Uncles, and my incredible Niece. Musicians such as Marvin Gaye, Ottis Redding, Robert Smith, Linda Perry, Nina Simone, Sade, Ella Fitzgerald, Al Green, Trent Reznor, Sugar Hill Gang, Johnny Cash, and so many more have influenced me all in their own way. From lyrics to arrangements, to rhythmn. I love to play my piano and drift off into my own world complete with scenes running through my head. Freestyling to beats that Jay-Z would pay for. Dancing to Electronica to where Napoleon Dynamite would be jealous. You truly can't define me as anything but musical."
Amanda, Duh, Rawky Zano...
I'm a big nerd. I love to laugh my ass off until I have to pee over someone getting hit in the head, getting mooned by a friend, or watching a comedy like Just Friends for hours upon hours. I love to listen to music people wouldn't take the time to educate themselves with, I love to throw a little hot pink paint on my black collared shirt just to make sure I'm matching my heels prefectly and uniquely. I love to watch movies to where I am forced to use my brain. I wear more ties on a daily basis than most men have their entire lives. I love to drive aimlessly. I love to be around kids, but will probably never have any of my own. I've been in love once & had my heart crushed, I will always be there for you if you need me, whether it be a late night drive just so you can get some air or call you up to tell you a really perverted joke just to hear you laugh again."
The Future
"My future holds many dreams. I plan on becoming a Music Supervisor to where I will be in charge of the music you hear in movies and tv shows. I plan on having one or two nights week at local clubs spinning everything from old school to trip hop (I miss dj-ing.) I plan on getting my clothing line in stores really soon, so girls can wear clothing that make them feel as strong as men but still a beautiful woman. I plan on moving to many different cities and conquering them all. I plan on starting a band. I plan on being ultimately happy. I'm on my way, and nothing and no one will stop me."DANCE IT OFF EVERY FRIDAY & SATURDAY
