I am here for Friends

About Me

My name is Josh Orto. I went to school in Frostburg, MD and studied Theatre. However, I decided to join the Air Force. I spent a year plus some months going through the process of being accepted as a Air Force officer. After completing my first step in my "training" adventure, Basic Officer Training, in Montgomery, Alabama, I relocated to Pensacola, FL, where I am studying to become a Combat Systems Officer. I just completed the Aviation Preflight Indoctrination and am currently waiting to start my Primary training. I hope to fly in the back seat of an F-15E.

My Interests

Watching my wife play computer games while I sit on the couch getting fatter by the minute. I can actually hear my clothes stretching the longer I sit.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who knows the way to Never Neverland, Candyland, the Land of Milk and Cookies, or the Land of Opportunity.

Music:

I stick with older stuff like Clapton, Doors, Zepplin and the like. Pearl Jam is also a favorite. I go through phases, though. One section I'll be listening to nothing but Harry Nilsson or that Mungo Jerry song and then I do a stint of Pearl Jam. Currently I can't get enough of the Beatles' White Album...update: Still going on the White Album. It's almost obsessive.

Movies:

I just rewatched The Holiday and decided that I really like that movie. A few others I like: Children of Men, 28 Weeks later (and it's predicessor), Letters from Iwo Jima, Sideways (but only after the second time), 50 First Dates (but not as much as the first time) and The Departed. There are more, but I don't feel like listing them.

Television:

The Office, Heroes, Carnivale (sad to see it go), Curb Your Enthusiasm, Lost, Six Feet Under (sad to see it go), The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, 24, Arrested Development (really sad to see it go), Countdown with Keith Olbermann as well as MSNBC in general and, of course, all the Flavor of Loves and it's spin offs (except for that Rock of Love. I can do without).

Books:

The best book I ever read was The Dark Tower IV: Wizard's Glass by Stephen King which was a wonderful book that made me cry.Others include Assassin's Gate by George Packer, Liars... by Al Frankin (I've recently picked up his new one The Truth, but haven't started on it yet).

Heroes:

Lt daMota!!! Thanks for commissioning me!

And Then We Damn The World: Fredrick Andrew Talbort

Fredrick Andrew Talbort wasn't too terribly fat for being such a couch potato.  In fact, if he had one of those elastic tummy control bands, but for his whole body, he would look rather fit. ...

And Then We Damn The World: Gabby Gail Gilbert

Well, little boys and girls, does Joe have a story to tell you today!  It's a story so silly it's almost unbelievable, but I tell you, it is all truth.  In all the years that I have lived I ...

And Then We Damn The World: Sophia Rebecca Sofison

Daniel Pallidino was a small boy of ten.  Some would say he was ugly, but he actually was quite handsome if you stared at him for any length of time.  He was small, though.  Quite small...

Hey, But Thats How It Always Goes!

I sit...I sit...I sit starring into the computer screen.  "What am I doing?" I think aloud.  Or did I just say that to myself?  It doesn't matter.  All I can think about is...that....
