DJ Silent Rage’s Bio%D%A%D?J Silent Rage (aka S.R.) hails from the cradle of hip-hop, Bronx, NY. %D%AThis alone should give him a leg up on the competition in Tampa. Add %D%Ahis current position as the director of the Tactics and Methods Record %D%APool, a spot on the University of South Florida’s WBUL 1620 AM and %D%ATampa community radio station WMNF 88.5 FM, co founder of Edge TV, and street promotion gigs, you have the deejay equivalent of a triple double.%D%A%D%AInspired by his father, a deejay and musician, Rage already had the %D%Alove for the turntables when he moved to Tampa, FL., but he didn’t consider it more than a sometime hobby until his junior year in high school in 1996. By 1999, it had become a viable career option, landing him stints at area clubs like, Frankie’s Patio, Faze II, Club Skye, Platforms, Twilight and many more. That was the year he met Mad Linx. Together they promoted for companies such as: Universal Records, EA Sports, Adidas, and many more. Soon after the Shut It Down Squad was formed (Mad Linx, DJ Ritz, S.R., Q45 and DJ Knucklez). He has since released a series of mixtapes hosted by artists like Slip-n-Slide’s Deuce Poppi, Killer Mike, Nappy Roots, Obie Trice and Boot Camp Click to name a few. Silent Rage has also deejayed for superstar comedian Dave Chappelle during a show at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center in 2003, but his greatest achievement thus far has been his appearance on BET’s Rap City in July of 2005. He has provided sounds to many of the hottest Celebrity parties, and upscale charity events. He represents Pure Pain Records, a label based out of Savannah Georgia. “Pure Pain is more than your average label, it’s a movementâ€, says Rage. %D%A%D%AWith the many accomplishments made in such time, there was more needed to be done. So with the help of a high school friend, Silent Rage was now jumping into another form of media. In 2004, they created Edge TV. This show will focus on urban entertainment and performing arts. Edge TV is now airing on two public access networks in the southeast region. %D%A%D%AS.R. believes that Hip-hop has come a long way since the beginning, and that it isn’t just for the inner city anymore. “It’s a business entity now, you have to be prepared and that’s what I plan on doingâ€. %D%A%D%AYou can often hear him at various area nightclubs, on the Hip-Hop Takeover show at WBUL 1620 AM and the Saturday Night Shut Down at WMNF 88.5 FM in Tampa Bay.%D%A....
