Surfer, jack of all trades I guess. Spent many years in the food and beverage industry in Hawaii. Oahu bartending, The Big Island of Hawaii, in Kona, as a bartender and waiter. The West Coast, from Manhattan Beach to San Diego as well and up around the Lake Tahoe area.Grew up in Waikiki,Oahu, Hawaii, began surfing at a very young age,got lucky in my teens and won a few contests including a Junior Mens World title in 1962. Got lucky again at a few local contest in California during the 60's as well. Surf'd for a few well known surfboard manufactures throughout the year who are considered "Surfing Legends" today. I guess my whole life throughout the years has been consumed being close to the ocean,no matter which ocean it's been.Travled extensively throughout the South Pacific, having lived in the Cook Islands,spent time in Tahiti, New Zealand and a few trips to Austrailia as well. This all being done before the push to find "other surfing destinations" were really, looked at.I now call the Island of Kauai home, finding Oahu, Maui and the Big Island of Hawaii becoming way over populated for me. I'm just a kick back Hawaiian guy trying to get through life as unemcumbered as possible.Not married, nor have I ever been, a few VERY nice relationships throughout the year, a beautiful hapa daughter that I lost in an automoble accident in August of 2001 in Canada while she was returning from a camping trip.I'm a 60 y/o carpenter and a volunteer on a Search and Rescue K-9 Team on the Island of Kauai,trying to help loved one's keep together.Life is short..and my days grow even shorter so I just try to make the best of each day and smile along the way.
