Long Version
Infected is/was an old school hardcore punk band from Covina, CA. We have played with many other punk bands such as: The Vibrators, The Partisans, Menace, The Angry Samoans, Narcoleptic Youth, The Voids, The Atomic Bombs, Anti-Affect, Red Scare, Threatning Verse, Subversion, and many many more.Infected is the product of bored teenagers from the San Gabriel Valley. In 1998 (I think) Gabe Beard and Trevor Y. decided to play at their high school talent show. Freddy Beard (Gabe's brother) joined in on guitar and Mick Lackey got on drums. After pissing off some parents and teachers at the talent show, they decided that pissing people off was something they liked to do, so they stuck to it. In '99 Adam O'Mahony joined in on second guitar and Infected made their first decent recording. The 8 song demo was named "Judge Dredd," and anyone who looked like they might like it got a free copy. Adam left the band to be replaced by Brando in Sept. '99. After many shows, Mick and Gabe left the band to work on some other stuff. In Sept. '00 Randy joined in on Drums and a month later, Alan picked up the Bass. The new line up headed to the studio and recorded 9 more songs. These 9 songs, the 8 songs from the original recording, and 3 live tracks from a backyard in Covina, were thrown together on one C.D. that got the title "Rude, Crude, and Socially Unacceptable." This C.D. also had more copies given away than sold. In 2003, after a couple of changes of drummers, Romeo, who had filled in for Randy at a show in the bay area, joined the band. Not too long after Alan left for Costa Rica, to live with the monkeys, and Gabe Caustrita joined the band. In 2004, after playing many backyard shows, clubs, and getting banned from many bars, Infected called it quits. Coincidentally, Alan returned from Costa Rica just before Infected's last show, where he and Gabe did a tag team job on the bass. Recent rumors have been a brewin' about another Infected show. To seperate ourselves from those balding old "gettin' the band back together" types, we'll refrain from using the "R" word.
