books. dumpsters. walking (especially with my dog Huxley, and our best buddies Soph's and LP). making sure that people get food without having to pay for it (it is a right after all). playing all ages punk shows with my band. editing zines. thinking and writing about community, revolution and total industrial collapse. basic run of the mill stuff.
People working on worthwhile projects resisting our ongoing domestication and control by the powers that be... Also a magical winged unicorn. Of course, we aren't really meeting, now are we? Just communicating via a massive network of computers, wires, and such...If I don't know you already, I'm not real likely to just want to be friends just cuz you have cool hair or sent me a request or some shit (unless you are a magical winged unicorn). That doesn't mean you shouldn't contact me of course...Perhaps someday I'll actually meet you even, in the real world (yeah right, I'm a reclusive dude!)
political punk and hardcore, folk, reggae, assorted artists from a variety of genres. No racist, sexist or homophobic shit.
I have an incredible abilty to immerse myself in movies, whether good or not. No tolerance for really bad shit though (the Aviator, Armaggedon, etc). Point Break comes to mind as a stand out work of cinemagraphic genius- Busse & Swayze, in one surf filled package. Even when I like movies as entertainment, I'm often highly critical of them on a deeper level (ie reinforcement of societal assumptions, gender roles, etc). For a fascinating look at the unexamined but hegemonic christian patriarchal white supremacist beliefs of America in the 1950's I highly suggest the revealing (and utterly attrocious) "Robot Monster" in 3-D.
sucks. i did just see an interesting thing on the history channel about what would happen if humans disappeared. it was a green anarchist wet dream, except that i'd like to think that we can do away with civilization without going extinct. it might be wishful thinking though... anyway, our non-existence wouldn't matter a whole lot, which is good.
