Well Hello there...
My name is Miss Kerosene Deluxe I was born and raised in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, lived in London, UK a few years and am now settled in Montreal, Canada, where I live with my fiance and our dog Chester.
I am a published 'plus sized' Pin Up and Retro Glamour model. I have been doing this since 1997 and still enjoy every moment of it.
I started to develop a passion for the 'Femme Fatale' look around the young age of 6. I believe this was triggered by watching the beautiful and glamorous Silver Screen Starlet's on the TV such as Rita Hayworth, Yvonne De Carlo, Jean Harlow, Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner, Veronica Lake, Betty Grable, Marlene Dietrich and many more.
These woman oozed sensuality without bearing all. They had class, curves, beauty and grace.
My aim is to bring back that class (albeit with a modern twist) and to represent the more shapely and voluptuous female form. After all beauty does come in different shapes and sizes...
I have a huge love for steel boned corsets, vintage lingerie (shapers and girdles), fully fashioned seemed stockings and high heels, often paired with a stroke of black eyeliner, false eyelashes and ruby red lipstick. Something I'm rarely seen without and I tend to be overdressed on most occasions. I guess you could say I'm an aesthete! But don't let this fool you, I'm not afraid to get dirty once in a while and have a good sense of humour and an easy going personality.
Besides the ones mentioned above my other fancy would have to be vintage military uniforms from around the 1940's..Oh my!
I'm extremely passionate about music and love travelling all over the world (when possible) for gigs and music festivals.
I enjoy a wide range of styles from classic Rockabilly, Doo Wop, Big Band Swing, Classic Jazz, Honky Tonk, Blues and Old Country to Psychobilly, Punk, Oi, Hardcore, HorrorPunk, Surf, Gothabilly and Ska.
In my spare time I love travelling, shopping (hey I'm a girl after all), going to gigs, dancing (I like to jitterbug and jive), drawing, painting and watching movies. (I'm a huuuge moviebuff and Horror Geek)
