Guitar, Songs + Great Rock

About Me

BLAKES BIO AND OTHER FACTS -- BLAKE WAS BORN...14yrs later he started playing the gtr. First gtr was a blue Del Ray he bought from cousin Dennis Davis. Traded it for a fender mustang 1 yr later. Felt so bad he bought it back for 2x what he paid the first time. 15 1/2 got a girlfriend. Spent the rest of high school jammin and kissing, among other things. He and best buddies Mike Monzo( The Monz) and Brian Cole both from Massey Md. formed a band called King Cole which became Cobra. Played lots of classic rock in small but smokey bars and firehouses. BYOB. Underage drinking and loud amps and louder rednecks. Those were the days... Next band ( Surrender) , Great band, great vocals. 4 piece outfit,Dave Unger (Keys),Blake (Gtr),Curt Bennington (Bass) and Marc Hamer (Drums). Played all over PA/MD/DE. Lasted for 2 short years that were filled with a lot of music and driving and late nite Denny's pancake binges... The Blake Thompson Band started with Blake's first cd. Self-titled EP recorded with some Philly guys from " The Hooters" . Played from Philly to Key West with many different band members. 50 or so. Thats a lot of DeJaVu rehearsals... Started band (Freakboy)with brother Ethan and the Monz, playing 60s psychedelic and a mixture of obscure 80s tunes, early 90s grunge and some dance favorites. We had a ball and really rocked Wilmington N.C. Moved to Arizona and joined "Bit o Jane" a singer/songwriter jam band of sorts from Marquette Michigan. They really wanted to be the "Bare naked U2" but took more of a rock turn with the addition of BT who threw in some homestyle Billy Gibbons licks. 5 years later BT started the Elliots which went through a couple changes before becoming a powerful 3 piece band with absolutely awesome vocals. 3 lead singers to be exact. Blake/Kate Russo/ and Ivan Harshman. BT on gtr, KR on rock violin and keys, and Ivan on Bass. Different drummers came and went but the 3 travelled the country, cut 2 studio albums and a few live videos. Left a lot of sad fans when the Bass man split to get married. Happens to the best of em. (The phrase "It's either me or the band!" is taught to females in a special home economics class in 10th grade.) Blake is now touring, recording and performing live solo and with Kate Russo. Kate is releasing several solo projects and Blake is doing the same. There are several cds for sale. See the downloads page for some samples. That pretty much sums up the musical life so far.Visit my other links: katerusso.com and myspace.com/katerussobandMyspace Backgrounds
