About Me

CherryTeresa
.com

has my journal, photos, music, etc.
I am pretty liberal with accepting friends requests. But I do not add everyone. If I feel like you stand for something I am completely against or we just don't have even the slightest thing in common, I won't accept. Also, I only accept Group invites if I'm really interested in the subject matter. The good news is I actually don't mind band requests for the most part. Lately, I've been getting requests from some AWESOME artists!
I think for the most part I am a pretty easy person to get along with. I have been told by a few people that when they first met me they thought I was mean. But then when they got to know me just a little bit, they realized that wasn't true. I think the reason is that sometimes around new people I can be shy and that shyness may sometimes come across as arrogance but it's not. So please don't be afraid to say hi to me! Also, I am very bad at remembering names. Please don't take it personally.
I can play a few instruments, but my main focus is on the piano/keyboards. Music is the air I breathe. It’s the best way I know how to communicate, express myself, and let out my emotions. And I have fun and bond with people that way. I'm better with using music as an outlet than writing words (which I wish I could be better at doing). But I guess that's because I learned to read and write music before I learned to read and write words. My goal isn’t to be famous but to spend at least a part of my life doing what I love. It's important to enjoy the journey, not just the destination.
I'm half Korean-American, and Half a mix of just about everything else. (Just stating this because I get a ton of messages asking me, so there you go).
I enjoy some of the simpler things in life. I especially like good conversations - someone that I enjoy listening to just as much as I like talking to is great. I like looking up at stars and just staring. I like finding about an awesome band, movie, tv show, etc. I like when a good friend finds me on myspace after losing touch with them for years.
When I go out, I like going to shows (especially local bands' shows - but I'm into any type of music that's good, I'm not stuck liking only certain genres - it's about the emotion/message/sound/passion of music I like, not just certain styles of music). I like going out to clubs and mingling and hanging with my friends. Or even inviting close friends over to chill and talk/watch a movie after clubbing/going to shows. And 24-hour diners are great. So are sushi resturants. Oh yeah and so are parties, of course. And afterparties.
I like boating, too. I haven't done that in foreverrrrr. I miss it!

My Interests

Music - Keyboards, Writing, Playing, Performing, Listening, and Watching.

Cherries, Sanrio, Paul Frank, Mashi Maru, The Powerpuff Girls."Southern Style" Iced Tea (Freshly brewed, extra sweet, NO lemon).Fun colored mascara and lipstick. Obscure, non-radio friendly music that hardly anyone else likes or knows of but I adore.Dark classical music. International music. Intelligent humor (Margaret Cho, Dave Chappelle).Taking long walks. (Either by myself while listening to music or with a friend while having a chat). It's a good way to de-stress and of course get exercise.Trippy filmstrips from the '60s that we watched in Science Class (how do I get a copy?!!!).My friends.the '80s and the early to mid '90sLearning new things. Meeting People (is easy).Apple computers and products.Admiring great art. Graphic Design, Web Design, traditional art, obscure, modern, oil paintings, displays, sculptures, etc. When rock bands have keyboards, flutes, trumpets, violins, cellos, bongos, or any other numerous other instruments that aren't always in the "standard" rock band. There are so many instruments to choose from, so it's a shame to just use only vox, guitar, bass, and standard drums in every band.Outer Space. Scary, deep sea creatures. Being fascinated by, yet intimidated by spiders.Organic and natural foods.Good conversations.Kissing/making out.

    Books
A Night Without Armor 2 The Revenge by Beau Sia. Dr. Seuss. Shel Silverstein. Poppy Z. Brite's bio of Courtney Love. Grrrls (even though most of the women in the book weren't really "Riot Grrrls", it featured good artists)."Natural Cures They Don't Want You to Know About" by Kevin Trudeau.

I read mostly non-fiction books and books about health. I need to get back into reading fiction again.

    Influences
Margaret Cho, Kate Bush, Courtney Love. I don't know if I would call them "heroes" because that's a pretty strong word. But I know they are major inspirations to me in positive ways - in spite of (or maybe partly because of) their flaws.

    Heroes
My mother for teaching me how to be strong and for being the one who first introduced me to the piano.
And anyone who dedicates their lives to serve others such as the good doctors and cops. Firefighters - those are real heroes.

    About Me

Click here to check out my music profile on myspace.

Click here for my email address. Real email is more dependable than messaging on here.

I'm Teresa.

My main passion has always been music. I've been playing piano/keys/synth since I was a toddler. You can check out my music myspace profile here . I also like working with computers and I'm just starting to learn software programming and database technology. I'm currently going to school half-time for Information Technology in the evenings. I also like to blog. But lately I have not been updating it as much, due to my studies. I work as an Accounts Receivable Specialist for a health insurance company.
I like going out to local bands' shows and chillin' with my friends in my free time. I love messing around on my keyboard/synth. After I graduate and save up some $$, I want to move away from Maryland. I will probably go to the west coast or maybe leave this country... or planet. We'll see.

My ethnicity: I'm half Korean-American and my other half is a mix of Native American, British, Irish, German, and even more.

I think the brain is the sexiest part of the human body. Sure, I like good physical looks as well, but if someone doesn't have much going on up in the head, then I don't really care much. Keyboard

    Computer

iMac running 10.5 (Mac OS X: Leopard) and Windows XP. Linux may be next ;)

And for being the first one to teach me how to play the piano.
