April 13th 2008; okay everybody, so about that singing contest. Well I went into the studio and recorded a 30 second demo of my singing. Problem is I have been fighting a terrible cold and my singing really sucked. I was only allowed one chance to record and i totally messed up the demo! When the sound engineer played back my recording the part that I messed up was all staticy and he could not for the life of him figure out what happened. I guess someone up there helped me out cuz he told me that I had one more chance to record since the DAT messed up. Since I had a second chance, I decided to record something easier considering my present condition. I decided to take it easy next time around and sing "Good Morning Girl" by Journey. Here is the link: http://www.foxreno.com/sponsors/11549834/detail.htmlVoting begins on the 14th so if you listen to it and like it, then I move on to the final 10!
April 8, 2008: So I was entered into this singing contest and if i get enough votes, I can move on to the next step which is actually competing in the live stage event! I will be posting the link soon!
January 14, 2008: Okay I posted a new song called "No (Real) Reason" and it's about how bad things happen to good people. I wrote this song because of some personal feelings I went through and it sort of wrote itself actually. Hope you all like it... I also posted a song that was co-wrote by another friend of mine named Shawna Conlin. She has such a talent for writting lyrics. She sent me some lyrics and I recorded the first thing that came into my head. I invite you all to check out her site. The song is titled "One More Day" and I'll re-record a newer version as soon as I get the chance.
October 11th, 2007: Okay gang, big news! Had a great meeting with the producers of an indi movie called "Pyramid Highway", and they are exited about working with me on their new movie! They will be using some of my material, and I agreed to write some new material for them to use as well! If you want to see their site, they are on my top friends list. They are exited about this movie and will begin shooting tomorrow. They shoot for a month solid, then the movie goes to the chopping block, where I come in! Check the site out if your interested!
October 10th, 2007: Okay everyone, there is a really good series produced, filmed, and written by a great bunch of guys at "Bad Actor TV". They released the first part of their series "Bad Actor" and if you have not seen it yet, you should! Problem is that they need 200 friends to release the 2nd part of their series! It's really funny, so I want to see what happens next! If you can, please friend request them so they can reach their quota! You can link with their profile by scrolling down to my top friends list! October 8, 2007: Okay, so there was this tune that was stuck in my head all day so I thought I'd put it down reall quick and dirty (cuz that's how I like to do things sometimes) and the song started to work itself out. It's kind of an experiment in style, so it's a little new to me. It's called "(Feels Like)Falling" and it's kinda new ground. I know I need to work on the levels, but at this point I'm really more interested in listener input. So if you ever get the chance to hear it, just email me and let me know what you think! It's on the "Project Playlist" player further down on the right column. NOT the default myspace player.
October 7, 2007: Since I posted "Riding Snowbirds" and "Spirit's Song" up on www.ourstage.com, both of those songs when from 400th place to 215th and 216th respectively! Not bad for just 5 hours! Lets hope they go even further! Thanks for the support to everyone that voted!
October 7, 2007: I recently started an account at a site called www.ourstage.com. Bassically, it's a site that allows you to enter your music and let the internet community judge it's merit as a song. You can win prizes and exposure in the business. You all should check it out and participate because there are so many great songs and musicians out there! *(&*% the record labels! *&^$ the focus groups and corporate artists! This is where true originality and expressive freedom comes to play! Good for you ourstage.com!!!
Sep 24, 2007: After a weekend of recording, I finished another project. It's called "Riding Snowbirds" and it speaks about the human condition and addiction. I intended the song to be dynamic and touch on different facets of life and the impact of drug use as well as it's consiquences. Even though the 'snowbird' represents cocaine, I also mean it to be a metaphor for anything that we all become a slave to and neglect the things we take for granted. I might fix the vocals later, but for now I'll leave it alone.
Sep 10, 2007: My song "Monkey Boy" was added to a station playlist. It was added because the entire song was recorded using only a Boss GT-8 effects station. Just thought you all would like to know!
May 6, 2007: Hey all, Ive been getting questions about the new player that I'm using. Just in case there are less or no songs on the player, I'm doing maintenance on the songs that I recorded. Just doing some minor house keeping, but the songs should be back up shortly. Thanks for you patience and sorry again for the trouble. Rye-
April 29, 2007: Okay, so I was just chillin out last night when this song kinda came into my head. So I thought "oh, what the hell... I'll just put it down." But to be honest, I kinda like it. I'm not concerned with the mix or fine tuning... I just wanted to put it down and have some fun. Maybe I'll rewrite the words, or maybe I won't. I guess we will see later. It's called "One More Cry" if you wanna check it out. Anyways, I hope that you like it. It's kind of a cool little jam that I managed to complete in only 5 hours. Now, I can get back to my harder stuff that I'm gonna post soon. I'm working on a project called "Boom!". I'm looking foward to completing it. It's more edgy than the stuff I'm posting now, so I'm looking foward to the challenge.
April 3rd, 2007: Okay, I'm back after a looooooooong break and I'm trying to catch up with everything in the myspace community! Sorry to everyone who thought I was snobbing them! I posted a song up called "Home In My Arms" and I'm getting some awesome feedback! I think the biggest thing is that although everyone seems to love the song, I need to work on the reverb with the lead vocals! I'm gonna take a little break and come back to the song. Then I'll experiment with a mixing combination that works best.
September 20, 2006: Hey everyone! just wanted everyone to know that I finally finished my latest project called "Monkey Boy"! I hope you all like it. It should be posting pretty soon I hope.
September 5, 2006: Hey everybody in Myspace Land! Hope everyone is fairing fine. Just want to inform anyone interested that I am gonna be working on my next project. I am officially starting the project tonight. Basically the project will be a culmination of my musical style and reflect my passion for the art of guitar virtuosity. Well, my "quest" for guitar virtuosity at least. I wan to thank my little sis Vanessa for coming up with the title. It's gonna be called "Monkey Boy" :) and it's gonna rock your socks off! I'll keep everyone posted about the progress and the details!
September 4, 2006: Last night I went downtown and watched Journey and Def Leppard play in concert together. Although everyone was great, I spent alot of time enjoying the guitarist masters do there best work! Phil Collin was absolutely breathtaking. I love his use of higher harmonics. Of course I can't forget Neil Schon! He's another one of those 'old men on the hill' types. You know, the kind of guitarist you quest for to gain insights into the way of the guitar... This will be me some day... The only this that sucks about last nigt was that my camera was terrible!

August 11, 2006: Hey everyone, I just want to thank everyone for the awesome feedback about my song "Too Late"! It's very encouraging. I am replacing the old uploaded song with a better mixed song with a guitar solo added. It's the final song and I'm not messing with it anymore. I want to work on another fast track with plenty of power and technical style so I can keep up with my skills... Well, it's good in theory at least. Almost have enough songs to start playing bars on a regular basis!!!!
August 7, 2006: Hey everyone! I just finished recording another song that's very mellow in my opinion. It's called "Too Late". I hope you all like it. I wanted to keep the song patterns simple so I can try concentrating on other techniques. I'll probably put it up for a little while until I finish with my other two projects. Let me know what you think if you have the time later on...
July 11, 2006: Well, it's been a little while, but I'm finally back! This time I finally finished "Sexual Chocolate"! I hope you all like it. It's a fusion of Funk and Rock with alot of blues scales. Only problem is that it's soooo long, so when I encoded it, I had to use a lower quality bitrate. I also had to post a portion of the song due to it's length. If you want the complete version, just let me know. I'll send it to you... I hope it still kicks ass though!! I had alot of fun working on the song, and I am still going to fine tune the song. But so many people wanted me to hurry up and post so here it is for your listening pleasure LOL!!
June 1, 2006: Hey everyone out there in the Myspace Universe! Hope all is great with everyone. Just a couple of things... Upon finishing the posting of "Orange Days", I have been getting some compliments on the guitar work and sound. I told them that the pickups were customized and they seemed very interested in the setup that I created. If your interested in the pickups I tailored, you can read all about it in my blog. Also, I have decided to archive some of my other "news" In another blog so I can save on room in my home page...
Also, I am currently working on another project called "Sexual Chocolate" It's a mixture of Funk and Blues. I am very excited about the project and I'm taking my time on it so I can deliver the same feel that I envision. I should be done within the coming weeks and will post the song as soon as possible.
I guess if you need to know one important thing about me, it would be that I love to make friends! I also love, love, love to write music!
I love all kinds of music. Rap, Rock, Reggae, Classical, Orchestral, etc... I think there is alot to be learned in all kinds of music, and that it's very important not to be closed into a particular type of musical style, but it's good to have a favorite...
I can write a song like nothing... Of course the ability to write music and the ability to write great music are two entirely different things. But hopefully I will fall into the latter category... Being your own boss when it comes to music and recording can work for you or against you. The great thing about writting alone is that nobody can tell you your doing it wrong. But the bad thing about it is that if you actually are doing it wrong, nobody will tell you! So the only thing I can do is rely on what I think sounds right, and what others tell me about what my music means to them...
I guess only time will tell...
This is a shot of my home studio. Notice some the equipment that I use. All the equipment that I use for my demos are displayed right here. The only thing I left out was the studio microphone.
This is a shot from one of the hotels on the beach from my home called Guam. I miss swimming here all the time. I used to meet my friends here and hang out alot.
