Hey y'all, this is your girl Melissa here. Sumitra is my beautiful Indian middle name, which doesn't get used nearly as much as it should, so I decided to use it for my profile. I usually go by just Melissa Roy, though. Anyway, I'm a senior psychology major at Pepperdine University in Malibu, Californ-I-A, and I will be graduating this coming April! Could life get any better? Well, I guess it can... I am doing SEMESTER AT SEA right now, and it has been ridiculous so far!! I absolutely love the rush of waking up in the morning and seeing a new landscape when walking out onto the deck. I also like being able to "retard" our clocks, getting an extra hour of sleep every time we cross a time zone. The stops on our itinerary include Mexico, Hawaii, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, India, Egypt, Croatia, Turkey, Spain, and then ultimately ending in Miami. We spend about 5 days in each country and take classes through the University of Virginia while we are on the ship, so it's kinda like a 100-day cruise with an academic twist. The world is our classroom, and the citizens of the different countries are basically like our teachers (although we do have professors on the ship).
