About Me

I don't think I belong on this tropical island. I'm just trying to pretend I'm the protagonist from a Graham Greene novel--linen clad and morally ambivilant. I've even started drinking whiskey. And you know what? It's not that bad. (I mean whiskey--not this damned island.)

My Interests

that certain combination of sex appeal and humor

I'd like to meet:

I don't wanna meet "interesting" people who are going to "defy my expectations" and make me realize that underneath extremely out-of-date, pretentious or "laid-back" exteriors we're really all the same 'cause I'm sick of of that. I want boys in fitted clothes and vintage shoes and girls in black jeans or mod dresses and boots and everybody better have goddamned great hair. Just kidding. Not really.

Music:

music for coked out fags--is that insulting? I'm gonna get a little listy: Saint Etienne, Sparks, Pulp, Crydamore Records, Bronski Beat, Roxy Music, Dream Academy, Bob Seger...this year, my world was rocked to its foundations by The Knife--it was like 9/11 on my turntable. And of course I listen to whatever they play on "The Hills"--you know, Good Charlotte, Maroon 5, Creed, Godsmack.

Movies:

Heathers 4ever

Television:

TCM all the way, man. Amazing movies letterboxed, commercial free. And for those of us with basic cable it's the only place you can see boobs and butts and here the really dirty words. No kidding. Recently fell in love with Barbara Stanwyk in "Babyface", Steve McQueen in "The Thomas Crown Affair" and William Holden in "Paris When It Sizzles".

Books:

I'm loving Graham Greene right now, having a blast with Robert Louis Stevenson and may I highly recommend Roald Dahl's Boy and Going Solo (plus comix comix comix)

Heroes:

Batman, Amy Sedaris, Jarvis Cocker

My Blog

At last...

I've stopped caring.

the revolution may not be televised but the apocolypse sure is...

'Britney and Kevin: Chaotic' was the grossest thing I've ever seen. It's like watching the Pam-n-Tommy-Lee video with the sex cut out (and a little dumbed down).
