I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm an Italian boy who was born to Tony and Roseann in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, along with my younger sister Jennifer and my even younger brother Steven. I attended Mark Twain JHS for the Gifted and Talented (or in my case someone with a good connection), followed by Edward R. Murrow HS, where I realized my dream of becoming a broadcaster. After completing four years in the Brooklyn College TV/Radio program, spending hundreds of hours as General Manager cleaning up the college radio station (shout out to WBCR!!!) and interning for radio legend Cousin Brucie at CBS FM 101.1, I got lucky landing a job at Z100. It was a meager 5 dollars an hour, but hey...it was a job answering phones for the almighty Elvis Duran while he was the clever, quick witted, zany afternoon DJ. That was 1995. Four years later, I moved across the hudson, where I cried for days that I had to give up my NY license plates. After much therapy, I can now say I love this place and I am proud to call it home. I love the people, I love the attitude, but I do not love the jughandle left hand turns.

ELVIS DURAN & THE Z MORNING ZOO 2006
Nowadays, I get up at 4am (yes that's AM...welcome to morning radio), chill in Hoboken and in the city with my friends, and spend summers roaming around tropical cities and countries and occasionally down the shore while watching my METS kick ass on the tube!
DAVID WRIGHT IS THE MAN!

My Interests

I love playing jokes on people which is why I don't mind spending 5 hours a day after the show in the studio recording Phone Taps. I like coming up with new characters and voices. I even do accents...now I'm not saying they're very good accents, but as long as the victim falls for it, then who cares, right?

Music:

That's a tough one...I like it ALL...except for country- BLLEECCHH! My ipod is crammed with stuff ranging from oldies to hip hop and everything in between. I like rock, metal, punk, dance, house, reggae...you name it. Old stuff, new stuff, oreo double stuff. I will say though, that The Beatles, U2 and the Beastie Boys are simply the greatest of their respective genres...and The Joshua Tree and Paul's Boutique are the most ingenious albums ever written. Furthermore, I'm a huge fan of local music and my boy Jamison Ernest with his band YELLOW FEVER. I know this guy since I was 12 and he's starting to hit it big...so I suggest you check out his stuff here on myspace...gotta represent my Brooklyn peeps!!!

Movies:

All those cult classics...Resevoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Office Space, There's Something About Mary, South Park- Bigger, Longer, Uncut...Ferris Bueller's Day Off...The Breakfast Club and all that other 80's Brat Pack/ John Cusack stuff you see on the USA network on the weekends. But can I tell you that I HATE STAR WARS?...there...I said it...and any science fiction film....NERD ALERT!!!! And SCREW Harry Potter and anything featuring warlocks or wizardry!
BORAT! NOW THAT'S HUMOR!!!

Television:

Saturday Night Live, Desperate Housewives, MTV reality shows, VH 1 countdown shows, Access Hollywood, Extra, The Singing Bee, South Park, Entourage, The Sopranos, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Ace Of Cakes, Diners Drive Thrus and Dives on The Food Network, Sex & The City and Seinfeld repeats.

Books:

The Pokey Little Puppy, Superfudge, Tales Of a Fourth Grade Nothing, Are You There God It's Me Margaret?, oh and of course Hilights for Kids...Goofus and Gallant ROCK!

Heroes:
