About Me

Hey all. How the hell did I get into all this? Sometimes I wonder. I started out as a singer in a post-glam hard rock band called Ancient Youth in the 90s in Japan, playing along the Tokyo coast and appearing in several festivals, live houses, and on local TV. I then worked my way back to Canada where I frontlined several acts, most notably the TransmitF project, which didn't perform much but bled tears of pain and pleasure in a makeshift torture chamber - I mean - recording studio (I'll never forgive...ah...forget you, AJ). Finally I hooked up with all the wrong people (some physically) and started recording a solo project. After intense consideration and debate, I decided to call this project DAN ROTHERY (stunned at my brilliance, I know). Once I got picked up by Maplenationwide (thanks to help from folks like Jeff Long and Bobby Gale) and they promised to put the CD in stores (which they came through on, thanks Maple), I figured it was time to really act like a singer. Hence, the live dates and radio and so on. To be honest, I spend a lot of time waiting for someone to come and tell me I'm not supposed to be here. Hasn't happened yet, though.
