Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, with roots back in India, YASMINE, from an early age would captivate the listener with her emotionally and sultry laden tones.
Her influences span across different genres. From the smoldering jazz of Anita Baker, to the legendary Stevie Wonder, the world beats ot Nithin Sawhney and the blue grass sound of Alison Krauss.
Working with lyricist Anar Rajabali, Yasmine's sound is WORLD. Her voice combined with the sitar, the tablas, the udu (or, sometimes, just an electric bass) resonate together to create an innovative fusion of East meets West.
An array of colorful musicians coupled with talented arrangers-producers (Joe Cruz, Slone, David Marion) define the humble sound of YASMINE Indian Soul.
