The Tex Pistols were formed in June 2006. We are a Sex Pistols tribute band. This means that we play ONLY Sex Pistols songs. As it would be way to much of a stretch, we do not attempt to look like them. We also shy away from post-Johnny Rotten era songs, like The Great Rock and Roll Swindle and such. We are more into the MUSIC and not the IMAGE of the Sex Pistols.Charles George has been performing music in one form or another for about 22 years. A veteran of of the local music scene, Charlie was a original member of the Psychoholics and played with them off and on from 1991 - 2006. After leaving the band in April, Charlie decided to return to his roots. Since the first band he was in in high school was a Sex Pistols tribute band, he decided to go full circle and do it again. Bassist Dead Tex is a former member of Snuff Film Soundtrack and Liift. Drummer Chip Alexander is a former member of the Evil Mothers, Spleen, Shit City Dream Girls and Worm. Lead Guitarist Tony Rodriguez of Paint it Black and formerly the Helldogs with Bob Catlin and GBH drummer Wilf, was the lead guitarist in Charlie's first band in high school, Anarchy, circa 1981, which was, essentially a Sex Pistols tribute band. Twenty six years later, Charlie runs into Tony again at a the Irish Pub and the rest is history.NEW DEVELOPEMENT: Although we still consider ourselves to be primarily a Sex Pistols tribute, we have decided to branch out into the braoder spectrum of punk and have added songs by the Ramones, Dead Kennedys and Misfits.
