The underground rock scene in Brazil has never been showing such a great selection of new bands, all of them producing and releasing their music independently and surprisingly with superb quality material in sound and visual.
Some of them gets a bit more of attention and between these ones, some sound heavier than others.
Here, in the next few lines I am going to put you in touch with the hottest rock album of the summer. ...and it starts, the so well named new album by the stoner rock fellows ästerdon. As well as it sounds cool, ...and it starts will be recognized in the future as the album with the best cover art of all times. Just take a look.
In 6 songs, the album shows one band totally influenced by the urban environment in their lives in the city of São Paulo and it brings such a rocky verve of guitars with short and precise solos, all of them played by the hands of a man called Anderson Little Punk, let's put it this way.
For a start, "No Nobody" is a perfect example of the guitar thing mentioned above. Then "Castration! Double Castration" comes right after that and from this moment on you will get stuck with it.
The energy that comes up from the drums and bass are due to the brilliant work of two guys with same name Ricardo and it towards to a very stoner rock vibe precisely pointed by the vocals of the front man/songwriter Marcelo Viegas. He sings in good English and some of the songs like "Music Sweet Music" can take you to a beach in California - can I make it a Malibu beach? - or sometimes to the hot desert in Texas, like in "Dog's Day".
Then comes "Knoll" and the brave ästerdon show us what exactly they are standing for.
The chords of "Comboio" brings it to the end, with a special guest: wait 8 minutes and the hidden track "True Sounds Of Revenge" will come as a bonus for you.
This is ...and it starts, the hottest album of the summer. Out now via Igloo Discos e Pisces Records.

Há muito tempo o cenário do rock nacional não apresentava um acervo tão grande de boas bandas, com plenas condições de lançar um álbum de alta qualidade e totalmente independente. Dentre elas, algumas se destacam mais. E entre essas, umas são mais pesadas que as outras.
Há muito tempo também, este mesmo cenário não conhecia um trabalho que - mesmo tendo sido praticamente gravado em um home studio, o Estúdio 74 - é tão bem feito e ao mesmo tempo sujo e cru que consegue atingir o limite máximo do stoner rock. Um disco capaz de mixar em doses exatas furor, rebeldia, peso e metal.
Preste atenção nas próximas linhas. Vou colocar você de cara com o bem intitulado ...and it starts, novo álbum da banda paulistana ästerdon, que também será conhecido como o disco que tem a capa mais bem feita de todos os tempos. É sério. Não vai ser tarefa fácil deixar de ter uma cópia original.
Em 6 músicas ele apresenta uma verve de guitarras altÃssimas com solos curtos e precisos, tudo isso nas mãos do guitar hero Anderson Punkinho. "No Nobody", que encabeça o complexo roqueiro em ...and it starts, mostra bem isso. Ela é seguida na cola por "Castration! Double Castration" e a partir daÃ, você não tira mais o disco.
A energia que sai do conjunto baixo e batera tem como motor dois Ricardos (Idéia e Viola) e induz para o rock bem stoner, devidamente pontuado pelos vocais do frontman Marcelo Viegas, que cantado em bom inglês, ora nos remete à uma praia na Califórnia - ou seria Malibu? - como em "Music, Sweet Music", ora para um deserto no Texas, como em "Dog's Day". A seguir vem "Knoll", onde a brava ästerdon mostra mais a sério à que veio.
Com começo e meio perfeitos, ...and it starts chega ao final com os riffs poderosos de "Comboio", que fecha o álbum com uma ótima deixa. Espere 8 minutos e a faixa escondida "True Sounds Of Revenge" do nada aparecerá, de presente.
Esse é ...and it starts, o álbum nacional mais legal do momento. Ele chegará até você através dos selos Igloo Discos e Pisces Records e tem seu lançamento em março de 2007.
