Who: Fleur Parker (vocals), Aimee Banks (guitar), Mieke Van der Walle (guitar), Kat Millar (drums), and Lani Purkis (bass).
You could say Foamy Ed were 5 friends who happen to play in a band together, but that description marginalises the immense talent of New Zealand's premier all-female punk band, who have, over the past nine years, contributed significantly to the burgeoning NZ punk scene.
Their performance in the 1996 Smokefreerockquest, and their two EPS 'Go where you know' and 'A moments need' serve as a testament to their simmering presence.
These purveyors of punk rock have proved themselves live repeatedly and place an emphasis on performances that are high energy. If you go to a Foamy Ed gig, prepare to hear melodic punk/metal that reverberates through your bones and leaves you shell shocked.
With so much on-the-road experience and a slot at the Big Day Out to their name the next step for Foamy ED seems hideously obvious - release an album. Which, along with making more video clips, and travelling the world, is what they plan to do.
