Rock Artist Jessika Hallett

About Me

Jessika was discovered at the age of 19 by Denny Goodridge, and Becen P in a karaoke bar in Orlando Florida. That led to an EP package with Orange Records. Denny Goodridge, and Becen co- produced the tracks and Jessika wrote all the lyrics.
One of her songs on her EP package (Poison Ivy) was featured and played on the biggest radio station in Florida XL 106.7 Fm. It was placed in their Alternative Rotation and allowed Jessika to obtain her ASCAP membership. Her Publishing company is BlackWolf Publishing. Her song Poison Ivy was featured on both MP3.com, and Broadband.com as the number one song downloaded in late 2002, giving her the title The Angelina Jolie Of Rock! She performed around the Florida area for a few months before she was ready to head to Los Angeles.
As a songwriter Jessika auditioned many potential producers and writing partners before settling for two production teams. Damian Valentine, whose credits include work on the XXX soundtrack, ENTER THE MATRIX video game, and Sex in the City. And producing team Cherish Alexander and Billy Baker, who together write, produce and arrange their artists. Having mastered the LA club scene, Billy Baker and Cherish have also gained global exposure. Already being heard on TV's Series "the Crow" - Stairway to Heaven" and just recently featured in the new Burt Reynolds film the Last Producer.
Working with these completely different producers has allowed Jessika to create a unique sound to go with her haunting, melodic voice. Jessikas music has been compared to the likes of Evanescence, Linkin Park, Filter, and Sarah McLachlan .Her visual presence is strong with Sci Fi and gothic elements and can be heard through her music and stage shows.
Jessika is very heavily involved with the songwriting and producing of all her music and has an instinctive ear for catchy hooks and grooving guitar riffs. Since moving to Los Angeles Jessika has had songs submitted to top music executives at Warner Bros, and has had interest from other music industry labels and producers as well. Her music has been submitted to Feature Films such as The Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolutions, and A Cinderella Story, Also such TV series as The OC, Smallville, and Witchblade. Shes very open to placing her songs in both soundtracks and TV Series.
Her music is very radio friendly, commercial ready and fun. (Kindred) Jessika is excited about getting her music to the airwaves, MTV, and to the people. Currently Jessika is finishing up her album (Kindred) and hoping to begin rehearsing for her up coming live shows in the LA area including the famous VIPER ROOM and TROUBADOR.

Influences: "I love artists that use different elements to their music, mix and matching. I love Alanis Morissette, Fiona Apple, Evanescence etc. Their music moves you and makes you want to write better songs, cuz their top notch in their arenas."
Sounds Like: "I think when it comes to lumping artists togather in definition, we all seem to be put into the Rock/Pop Catagory. My sound is a bit in the vein of Evanescence, and alittle bit Fiona Apple..Not sure exactly what to say on that. I just like the more darker sounds, there haunting and I love to just sing about love and life, and pray it will move others."
