Cynthia Brooks - Photographer

San Francisco photographer Cynthia Brooks became interested in photography at a young age due to having parents who were photography hobbyists and a father who also took photos for police department evidence.
Cynthia's mother shoots a lot of sunset photos, and Cynthia's father has done everything from spiders, to portraits, to flowers, to human corpses. Cynthia's aunt and uncle were prolific shutterbugs shooting tons of rolls of film. All of these relatives studied photography with great photographers and they were also friends with professional photographers.
At age 7 Cynthia got her own first camera from her grandmother and felt incredible excitement. Since then Cynthia never stopped shooting and learning. In high school Cynthia won numerous photography awards and worked as a staff photographer on the school's yearbook and for the school's newspaper. In high school photography classes Cynthia began taking portraits and doing her own darkroom work. Her love of photography deepened.
Cynthia went to three colleges with one goal: to learn as much about photography as possible. She worked at numerous student publications as a staff photographer while also doing freelance work and working in the field. She became interested in nightlife culture and began to take a lot of photos at dance clubs, especially of DJs. Also she took a lot of photographs of people in the LGBT community, graffiti artists, weddings, friends, events, prostitutes, homeless, celebrities and pretty much anything she saw wherever she went.
At age 34 Cynthia is still following her life's passion of photography and will be until her death. Cynthia is available to shoot still photos for anyone who needs a photographer. Some of her current interests are wedding photos, portraits, event coverage, candid shots, photojournalism, fine art photography, urban landscapes, nature photography, promotional photography and band photography.
