MINI BIOGRAPHY Niela is a rising young talent, a mellifluous evocative voice whose meditative timbre and unusual lyrics have laid the foundation for a promising career. Working the gamut from Hip Hop Superstar Jay-Z (Twenty Bag Shorty, Aeriola/ BMG), to co writing with underground cult Director John Waters (Cecil B. Demented). Expanding her talents to house music, Niela cut lead vocals for a Live Elements Album (Gossip Records), Strictly Rhythms in house production team. As well as writing and performance on a Jazz album entitled Future LHistoire by Trumpet player Jimmy Wilson (Replicant Records). Niela used her flare as both a songstress and a poet to cultivate a highly stylized fusion of Hip-Hop and Ambient, lovingly known as Trip Hop Soul. She not only has the above-mentioned release to her credit but has written an ambitious, topical and ethereal album of her own material. Mining diverse influences such as Lamb, Massive Attack, Prince and Hooverphonics. Niela brings a polyfunk rhythmic fusion to her music as well as her talent on the guitar. This skill of synthesis earned her the job of pen the lyrics with John Waters for the title track of his latest movie Cecil B. Demented, as well as her own music in the movie Johnny Come Lately, coming in 2004. Niela released her album on April 18th, 2003, where it can be purchased at various retailers, and is expanding the scope of her talents by co-writing with other artists in Hip-Hop, Jazz and Alternative. With an ever-expanding musical horizon, Niela will make her mark with an ever-expansive creative palette. Member of ASCAP
