About Me

Zach Toczynski burst onto the Washington, DC comic scene in 2003 by taking a chance at a local open mic at a seedy gay bar and rapidly became a instant favorite on the comedy circuit!Zach's high energy and commanding stage presence sharpens his natural ability of using humor to blur all boundaries and easily relating to a diverse range of audiences.Within a short period of time, Zach has opened for Jim Gaffigan, Charles Fleischer, Don Jamieson, Rob Pue, Mickey Cucchiella, Elvira Kurt and Chris Coccia, and so many others! Also, Zach hosted the London-based smash hit "Sing-a-Long Sound of Music" at the George Washington’s Lisner Auditorium and was one of the featured acts at the DC Comedy Fest 2005.He has also performed with other national comics such as Mike Diesel, Keith Alberstat, Marc Patrick and Greg Lausch. Not only is Zach 100% Polish, but also he is Catholic, Gay, and born Buffalo, NY and denies his years in Rochester, NY, no matter, all of this is admittedly is a lot of crap to deny on a daily basis! Although it is just a myth, he was raised in Kodak-run Rochester, NY by loving, supportive, amazing, parents who tried in vain to create a normal son but apparently the lead in the water defeated them. Zach, who graduated (barely) from the University at Buffalo State College, began his professional career as a "Political Hit Man" for the much-feared Rochester, NY GOP. After many years as the "gay guy" in the heart of the GOP and being warmly embraced in many photo ops, Zach left Rochester, and headed to Washington, DC to make a name for myself in the world of DC Poltics! (bad or good!).During the day, Zach is currently a respected and established public speaker for a well known industry association, treking all over the world as part of his typical work day. Otherwise, my job is top secret.Other highlights of zach comedy life include being named winner of the March 2004 "DC Improv Open Mic Contest", 3rd Place Overall Winner for 2003-2004 "DC Improv Funniest Person", being crowned first round winner of the 2004 and 2005 "Baltimore's Funniest Person Contest" at the Baltimore Comedy Factory. Zach has been featured in the DC-based "Metro Weekly Magazine" as one of DC's best new comics.Zach is currently in the mist of his "2007 Vicodin Tour", making appearances in well-known clubs all over the USA and Canada.Come see what black women and gay men have been raving about for years!
