Alls fair in love and war, and this is a bit of both.

About Me

I think this quote from Lorelei Gilmore says it all.

"My brain is a wild jungle full of scary gibberish. I'm writing a letter, I can't write a letter, why can't I write a letter? I'm wearing a green dress, I wish I was wearing my blue dress, my blue dress is at the cleaners. The Germans wore gray, you wore blue, 'Casablanca' is such a good movie. Casablanca, the White House, Bush. Why don't I drive a hybrid car? I should really drive a hybrid car. I should really take my bicycle to work. Bicycle, unicycle, unitard. Hockey puck, rattlesnake, monkey, monkey, underpants."

My Interests

Acting, Writing, Tarot, Conspiracy Theories, Movies, Television, Broadway Musicals, Disneyland, Harry Potter, 1980's Nostalgia, Rainbows, Romantic Comedies, Kitties

Music:

With the exception of a handful of musicals that own me (Rent, by far, being the head of the list), it's less about particular artists and more about certain songs that just will not leave my head. But really, after the showtunes, I'd say I'm a rock girl.

Movies:

Rent (see above), The Princess Bride, Gone With the Wind, The Wizard of Oz, Good Disney movies, romantic comedies with Meg Ryan

Television:

Shows that I own on DVD: American Dreams, Anamaniacs, Angel, Arrested Development Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dawson's Creek, Degrassi: The next generation, Desperate Housewives, Felicity, Firefly, Futurama, Gilmore Girls, How I Met Your Mother, Jem, Lost, The Muppet Show, My So-Called Life, The OC, Quantum Leap, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Scrubs, She-Ra: Princess of Power, The Tick, Veronica Mars

Meditations

For a time, I used to do meditations every morning.  Just pull a card and stare at it, letting my mind wander, letting the message soak through my pores.  This morning, when I woke up early...

Its like a snap cup

So I'm going through this this positive phase right now.  I'm dealing with a lot, and more importantly, growing a lot as a person.  Growing into the me that I've always wanted to be.  ...

Writing

I recently participated in an event known as 24 hour theatre, writing a play in less than eight hours, which was performed by the day's end.  It was scary as all hell.  And a little awesome...

How did I miss this?

Animated movie about environmentalism?  Seriously, I knew it had a message, but that was insane. And fantastic.  Did I mention the fantastic? I must have this movie.  ...

Welcome to Paradise

Seriously, I live in paradise.  Yesterday was my day off, so my best friend and I decided to have lunch.  We ended up at Rubys in Huntington.  On the pier.  So as I'm waiting for ...

Rose

Once upon a time, I picked a rose. Soft and pink and covered in dew. I held it carefully, fingers never moving to the thorny weapons. I was too young to realize that it didn't matter. That eventuall...

Red

The red dripped onto the white. Stained. He swept it up without a backwards glance. Unnoticing. Was the white still white? Did it matter? He leaned back, resting. The red continued to drip. ...

A Rock

A little girl found a rock. Smooth to the touch, small and gray. She slipped it in her pocket, running her fingers across, a secret smile on her face. For years, the rock never left her side. Fallin...
