Hey Friends! My name is Karen and I was born in Lowell Massachusetts, and was raised in Nashua NH! I recently moved to Georgia 2 years ago due to my husbands job relocating us down here. I do love it down here, but I miss my family up north, especially my sister! Her and I are very close! I am married and have been now for 16 years to a WONDERFUL guy! We have 3 boys ages 15, 11 and 8! Yup, 3 boys and yes they are a handful, but worth every minute of it! You know that reality has set in when your oldest son is getting college applications to Emory, and then you think to yourself "when did he grow up".. I truly believe that you need to spend and enjoy every moment of your Childs life, because before you know it, they will be off to college and gone from the nest.
I am a photographer and own my own business. I am a portrait photographer, and specialize in Children/ Family Portraits! I have been doing photography now for about 10 years or more. My parents always knew I was going to be a photographer because I had a camera in my hand since I was 5 years old, and my parents would find all the family portraits hidden in boxes in my room! I was always fascinated with portraits and photography... I am a hands on Photographer, I don't believe in Tri-pods, or posing, I am huge into "photography in the moment"! I think photos are best captured when not expected! I also specialize in "Photojournalist" portraits, it's become a favorite in the business from clients that come to me wanting portraits done. I do a lot of weddings now, which is fun!
Besides Photography, I love weather! Not too many people know that about me.. I have always been fascinated with weather all my life. I do weather readings for the National Weather Service when I have time to do so. The spring/summer weather is my favorite to track! If I wasn't a photographer I would have become a meteorologist tracking storms and sever weather! My favorite season is fall, because of the tree's, the cooler air, and it's just a feeling of comfort for me. The photo on the right is one of my favorite snow photos after a winter snow storm. Being in the mountains of NH is such a gratifying and peaceful place to be, I miss those days! Photographing NH in the fall and winter is one of my favorite things to do!
WEIGHT LOSS & FITNESS is a HUGE part of my life! since 2004 I have lost 177 pounds! I was
diagnosed with a heart condition back in 2004, which could have potentially been
a serious thing if I did not change my whole life! and that I did.. I love
sharing my story with others because I see how excited in thinking they can do
it too.. I wish everyone could feel as fit as I do now.. I thank god every day
for making me go into AFIB that one night that changed my life!
I have been working out with my "personal Trainer" for 2 years! He has
taught me how to be strong, and the correct way of weight training. He helped me
lose 65 pounds of the 177 I lost! I would have to say those 65 pounds were the
most rewarding because I really learned more about my body, and how weight
training has changed me. I still train with him 2-4 times a week, & Love it.
I reached my ultimate goal on May 25th 2007 and it will be a moment I will never
forget!
To sum up the person I am, I am shy, yet can be very silly at times! I love to
always be doing something fun! I love to goof around and play practical jokes on
people! I love to make people laugh because it makes me happy to see others
smile! I have very few "close" friends that I keep close to my heart. I love a
person who I can totally be myself around, and not worry about being judged in
any way. I have a couple people in my life that I can be myself around, and I
feel great when I am around them. One of the things I learned in my weight loss
journey is that, you will find out who your true friends are, because those who
are your true friends, will accept you for who you were before and who you are
now! Those people who are true to my heart, will always be true to my heart!
When you are my friend, your my friend for life! My favorite things to do with
friends is to shop, watch movies, chat, laugh and take photos, and going to
dinner with the girls!
