About Me

Hmmm....Well, I am a senior at DePaul majoring in Women's Studies and Sociology, also going for a fifth year masters in Women's studies. Right now, as a senior and grad student I am mainly focusing on completing school and spending time with my family. Oh, and I am trying to get started on a novel I have bouncing around in my head.

A couple of years ago I became involved in Animal and Human Rights campaigns, as well as with environmental organizations. At the time I was able to devote a lot of time to these organizations, which I have been unable to do the past year due to my commitment to school. I plan to resume my activities once I finish school.

My Interests

Feminism. Africa. Human and Animal issues. Changing what I feel is wrong with this world. Trying to be a better person.

On a lighter note...I love to kiss my husband, dance, read, write, take exotic trips (although I hate to fly-but am working on coping with that fear), swim, drive in my car with the top down, watch my son play basketball and my husband coach, take pictures, listen to my husband talk about programming ;-), and dream of where I will be tomorrow.

Movies:

I have not been impressed by any films lately. Still waiting for Darfur Now to come to Chi.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind most reminds me of my life because Kate Winslet's character Clementine is a lot like me, American Beauty is another fav it is vivid and raw and yet still beautiful, Kill Bill V I and II, Lost in Translation, again the list goes on...

Television:

The L Word, what did you think???

Books:

French Trysts by Kirsten Lobe is the most recent read.

Still working on House of Leaves, but am starting Only Revolutions right now.

My fav author is James Baldwin. I have read numerous books by James Baldwin: Another Country, Giovanni's Room, Just Above My Head...I Feel he was the most relevant writer of his time.
