About Me

I like going off the beaten path. I like being the center of attention, but sometimes don't know what to do when I am. I love my family and friends, unconditionally. I give money to homeless people, but only after I ask them how they got to be homeless. From age 5 people have told me that I walk to the beat of my own drum. I love the ocean. I need to live close enough to smell it, and feel the sand and dig the people on Venice beach. I work in television and film as a camera operator/cinematographer. I love my job. It takes me all over the world. I try to get the most out of each day. I really try to learn something new, meet someone new, or just make myself better in some small way. If it's energy I need to burn, there's endless recreation here. If it's creativity I need to expel, i'll take photos, write, or play music. And if there's time after happy hour, there's unlimited entertainment to be found in this place. It's all here for the taking.

My Interests

Sailing, Skiing, Mountainbiking, Hockey, Hiking/Backpacking/Camping, Golf, Watching sports, Photography, History, Current Events, Art, Museums, live music, old shit, sushi, food in general I guess, and cooking it, random conversations, the beach, dogs, rain and snow, and keeping warm and dry during said rain and snow with sweaters and fleece and jackets and such, drinking rum drinks on summer days and red wine on cold ones, back yard BBQ's

Like minded people who are passionate in their endeavors. Last 5 NetFlix rentals, Sunset Boulevard, On the Waterfront, The Bicycle Thief, 8 1/2, The Last Tango in Paris. ..aries, March of the Penguins, Bowling for Columbine, Why We Fight, Darwin's Nightmare.

Television:

Don't watch much since I work in it, but CNN and ESPN are always on, also The Family Guy, American Experience on PBS, old episodes of the Dukes of Hazzard, Discovery and National Geographic channel shite, The Office, All in The Family

Books:

Usually about five going at one time. Currently, Leaves of Grass, The life & Times of Frederick Douglass, Walden, and The Curse of the Bambino. Recently finished Reverse the Curse (of the Bambino), Under the Banner of Heaven, and My Travels with Charley & Sea of Cortez. Bill Bryson and Krakauer are awesome.
