I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am one of those people who has rediscovered who he is after getting off track for a while. I used to think I was riding the crazy train, well folks, I am the engineer of that train and loving every moment of it! I am all about the moment and what the future holds.(I have found holding on to the past can be good sometimes but really really bad most of the time, so let it go) I can be loud sometimes, then I can be quiet and shy.(what a twist!) I love to be out in public and love concerts, but I don't like the crowds. I like having an eclectic bunch of friends, and I do. I enjoy people in general, love get togethers and just trying new things. I play guitar in a band and love my old school metal music. Basically just a down to earth quiet laid back kind of guy. I am a little...well make that way too open about things (am learning to reign that one in) speak my mind openly, really dig communication (i want to know where I stand with you, and believe me, you will know where I stand on anything) Got one big rule...if you are crazy or dumb enough to ask, I am crazy and dumb enough to answer. My score on The Fundamental Weirdness Test :
Hurricane
(You scored 60% mad, 65% wild, and 10% wannabe!)
You are clever. And you are crazy. You have awesome ideas, a powerful wit, and no inhibitions to stop you. You will not be soon forgotten. You're a HURRICANE! You have tremendous power, and you do exactly what you want, whenever you want. Some people worship you, others hate you. But one thing is for certain: wherever you go, nothing will ever be the same again.

Invisibility
(You're powers are 86% Mental, 88% Emotional, and 77% Physical!)
Better than sneaky, you can turn completly invisible. Great for infiltration and espionage missions, it doesn't lose effectiveness on the battlefield. The enemy can't hit what they can't see, and your ability to distract the enemy with covert strikes makes you a valuable resource to any team. Also a fun super power for practical jokes. If you want someone more submissive, try any of these for sidekicks: &Laser Eyes, you can teach them the subtle use of their power. &Teleportation, you can teach them the importance of unseen travels. &Time Control, you could make their ability to slip past people in time more effective. If you want someone your equal, try any of these for partners: &Elemental Control, their overt nature makes your covert nature more effective. &Gravity Control, their ability to control enemies makes your job that much more easier. If you want someone more dominant, try an &Explosive, their attention-grabbing nature might teach you when it's best to actually be seen.Avoid &Super Fighter, their direct nature and lack of subtleness will only irk you.

My Interests

Every day is Halloween in my mind, so don't mind my fascination with it if you please. Love cinema (horror in particular) but throw down on all kinds of movies (my 750 plus dvd collection will testify to that) everything from Heroic Bloodshed, dark drama, esoteric, weird, underground...you name it I will give it a try. As far as sports go I love hockey (GO DEVILS!) and of course the Charlotte Checkers. Also like the NFL's own Kansas City Chiefs Also do comic books. Have about a 35 thousand plus collection, and growing daily... Also have started collecting original art in a big way, working on getting my first piece of outsider art. Also write and draw comic style. Working on a local to the southeast fanzine called GROUND ZERO!... Writing and drawing all kinds of cool stuff. Also like to read. Have rediscovered my love with old school science fiction, sword and sorcery, horror. Writers like Heinlein, Robert E Howard, Lovecraft, Richard Matheson, Spillane, Stephen King, Clive Barker and their kind. My score on The 'Which A-Team member are you?' Test :

Hannibal Smith
(You are 30% crazy and 61% bad-assed.)

You walk around in funny costumes, but compared to your friends you're Joe Average. Your level head and cool calculations always seem to do the trick. There's no doubt about it, you are the mastermind full of schemes and stratagems. And at the end of the day you can always light your cigar and bask in the personal victory of a plan that has come together.

I'd like to meet:

This one's a toughie...I really am open to meeting anyone, but not interested in having seven million friends on this place. I really dig meeting people that are out there, not afraid to be themselves, not afraid of the norm (whatever that is) Not interested in phonies or people out to make themselves look cool or on the edge just because they have a cool pic on here, or need to have constant praise or have incredibly bad self esteem. Cries for help are not welcome here...sorry. I did the knight in shining armor too many times in the past, and am not interested in that role anymore. I will keep as real as I can, you do the same and all will be fine.Your results:

in your speech and expressions.
You are a romantic at heart and a natural leader.

Music:

Musicwise I am an old school headbanger. Love those old bands like UFO, Accept, Iron Maiden, UDO, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Kansas, Mercyful Fate, King Diamond...see the trend here? Not into newer bands for the most part (so many sound so similar today) but have discovered newer bands(90's to now) like Oasis, Radiohead, STP, Therion, Lake of Tears, Alabama 3, And you will know by the trail of the dead, Kasabian, Bile, Life of Agony, Stratovarius, GammaRay, Primal Fear, Riverboat Gamblers, Diary of Dreams...but the big one is Rammstein. It's amazing these guys keep on putting out quality material...each one as good and different as the last. Even now I am discovering new styles of music that blow my mind, so this one is ever changing.

Movies:

I run the gamut here...favorites include Bubba Ho Tep, Robocop, Starship Troopers, Raiders of the lost ark, star wars trilogy (the first ones please, episode 1-3 were uhhhhhhhmmm) Evil Dead (all three) King Kong (1933) Ed Wood, Citizen Kane (I give up...way too many to name) Any film by directors David Cronenberg, David Lynch, Orson Welles Jim Jarmusch, Mel Brooks, Samuel Fuller and Tim Burton. Also a big fan Of John Woo, Paul Verhoeven and Sam Raimi. And yes, I admit that even as bad as the movies were I love Ed Wood's work too.

Television:

Don't do much TV except for movies on DVD, but I do try to catch The Sheild, 24, any Hockey games when I can...Rescue Me, Boston Legal (how bout that James Spader/William Shatner chemistry?) House (thanks Stefanie, I blame you for this one) I don't do a lot of TV anymore...who has the time?

Books:

way too many to name...lots of old stuff mostly...Rediscovered my love of E R Burroughs, Robert E Howard, Richard Natheson, Ray Bradbury, Robert Heinlein, older Stephen King, H P Lovecraft, old school shudder pulps (The Spider, Doc Savage, The Shadow and any weird menace I can get my mitts on) Norvell Page, Joe Lansdale, Dennis MIller, George Carlin. Love reading behind the scene stuff about Hollywood, musical groups, hostile takeovers...

Heroes:

Joe Lansdale, Don Hertzfeld, Tim Truman, the late Will Eisner, My parents, David Cronenberg Michael Schenker, Chris Cunningham, and that unnamed fireman in that picture taken inside the world trade center while the buildings were on fire. He was running up the stairs as the people were running downstairs (that picture will haunt me forever) Your results:
You are Green Lantern Green Lantern 100% Spider-Man 80% Iron Man 80% Superman 70% Catwoman 65% Robin 58% The Flash 55% Supergirl 51% Wonder Woman 46% Batman 30% Hulk 25% Hot-headed. You have strong
will power and a good imagination.
