And though I stand for nothing, I will fall for anything.....

About Me

..musically obsessive, intellectually progressive, romantically selective, religiously permissive, sexually attentive, stupidity dismissive, politically divisive, spiritually effusive, bibliophile excessive, maintenance inexpensive, logically aggressive.I am thirty-one , going on seventeen , going on sixty . My thirties seemed so far away , until I was bludgeoned by them last year . I go to concerts , find myself wondering how these little kids got in to an over-21 show....and feel old . Then I watch my friends with their toddlers ...and feel young....as when the world was new. I keep checking my hair- and waistline , even though they aren't going anywhere (yet?). I still like a messy ice cream cone , but I believe in musical censorship - by parents , not government . The two things that terrify me the most are guns and the PATRIOT Act .Like most people, I am an onion , with multiple layers. I am very open, and will strip away the first for just about anyone. That, I guess, is what you'll find here .If I don't know you, send me a message, not an invite. My friends list is almost exclusively bands *I* have sought out and people I know personally. I'm not on MySpace to see how many "friends" I can rack up.Wanna see how I used to be? Or, just interested in half-built pages?
This is an ooooold website of mine.

Which Nightmare Before Christmas Character are you?
You're Jack! "I am the Pumpkin King!" and yes you are. Although you have the fame and fortune, you are not happy. You go and try to find yourself but in cost of Christmas. In the end everything is peachy keen and we still love you.

8. Favorite color: Purple, deep, bold and royal.
9. Best friends: Amoreena, Andy, Phil, Kate, Beth, Lisa....the list goes on and on...

95. Um.......
96. Pants or shorts: Pants.
97. Field or Forest: Forest.

Books:

I read constantly, every chance I get. At any given moment, I will be in the middle of at least one heavy novel/non-fiction work, and one or two light books. My favorite book is 1984 , by George Orwell . So much has been written about this book, and so few have actually read it. Shameful. As authors go, the top of my list is John Barth , whose writing never fails to astound me with its complexity, scope, and depth, rolled into a wonderful candy-coating of absurdism, and the occasional rude 'n' ribald sexual innuendo. His short story "Click" (first published in The Atlantic Monthly , December 1997) is one of my favorites, as its philosophy of the hypertextual nature of life meshes amazingly with my own thoughts on the subject. That philosophy has informed this site, to a great degree. I love it also because it shows an author of the "old school" who embraces and understands the contemporary world. I'm re-reading The Sot-Weed Factor , and I'll probably follow it with Giles Goat-Boy , perhaps his most well-known work. I'm thinking a whole Barth-a-thon might be in my future....
I am also working through House Of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski , which is truly a mind-bender of a novel, and must be read while listening to his sister Poe 's album Haunted for full effect. The album and the novel inform each other in amazing ways. They were written separately, but each with the other work in mind, by the siblings. While the subject matters may diverge, the crossovers are immediately apparent when the two are experienced side-by-side. I'm also reading a couple of Star Trek and other cheesy novels at the moment, but the titles of those are subject to change without warning, since I blow through them so quickly.
