From the city of Cleveland, Ohio, five musicians from very diverse musical backgrounds formed Obliterate in early 2005. The band quickly grabbed the attention of the local Cleveland scene with their unique intense and melodic sound as well as their tight and energetic stage performance. The group then began distributing numerous copies of their self-recorded 5-song demo throughout North-East Ohio. This marked the beginning of the road for Obliterate.
Over the next two years and a few lineup changes Obliterate was able to hone and shape their musical vision into what you hear and see now. A sound that combines the melody and catchy song structure of Euro-Metal with the pure unbridled aggression of American Death metal. It is that melodic, yet aggressive sound that began to garner them attention throughout the underground metal scene.
In July of 2007, Obliterate entered 5/5 Studios to record their debut album, “Welcome to Hell.†When the recording was completed, Obliterate began playing as many shows in they're section of Ohio and distributing they're album. Playing with Internationally known bands such as Trivium, Byzantine, The Black Dahlia Murder, and performing for Mistress Juliya at the Cleveland Hot 100 metal festival began to garner the band the attention that they needed to move on to the next step.
Currently Obliterate is wrapping up the writing process for their second full length album entitled, “Among the Ashes†and is also working day and night to distribute their material through digital distribution, their own online merch store and selling merch at shows. After “Among the Ashes†is finished the band plans to go on their first small tour of the Midwest so look for them tearing stages up in a town near you!
