About Me

Fizzygoo’s attempt at a serious straight-forward in-depth “About Me” section: Born and raised in Wyoming, Fizzygoo (who was not quite Fizzygoo at that time) learned to love the outdoors by playing in the hills of the Red Desert; avoiding rattlesnakes and collecting lizards. During the winter months, Fizzygoo learned to play Dungeon’s & Dragons, which would seriously affect his development as a human in many ways both good and bad (much like anything in life, neh?). It was also during this time, in Wyoming, that Fizzygoo discovered Weird Al Yankovic, which would seriously affect his development as a human in many ways all good. Next, Fizzygoo (who was still not quite Fizzygoo yet) moved to Southern California and enrolled in a new Junior High. Co-ed P.E. in the middle of January with everyone wearing shorts and t-shirts was quite a shock to Fizzygoo. It should also be noted, with much horror and sadness, that Fizzygoo was not allowed to grow all of his hair out long (a rule by the parents), only the back of his hair. This was not good. No photos survive to this day with good reason (if you do have photos please send them, and the negatives, to Fizzygoo and delete any and all electronic copies that you might, or might not, have). High School. Things got better. Hair was allowed to be uniformly grown out to great length. There was much rejoicing. Dungeons & Dragons was still being played. The occasional lizard or snake was still collected. While girls had long ago been “discovered”, they now seemed, on occasion, to discover Fizzygoo (who is almost about to become Fizzygoo). From Junior High through Freshmen year, Fizzygoo played Basketball, Football and Wrestling. Fizzygoo was not good at those sports (very bad or terrible is far more accurate, but we don’t wish to hurt Fizzygoo’s feelings), but he gave each a season’s worth of effort. After Freshmen year, Fizzygoo attended an architectural program at SLO. He discovers that he likes Beatnik Poetry Night (the writing and performing of his own pieces) more than the classes of the program. Sophomore year, Fizzygoo begins his two and half year career as a “drama student.” He is better at drama than sports, though not by much. Most of Fizzygoo’s time is spent preparing for plays, preparing for Dungeons & Dragons, or hanging out with a growing body of friends (where nearly one-third of Fizzygoo’s MySpace friends are from this So. California period of his life), some of which are in the plays, some of which are playing D&D, and even a few doing both. The rest of high school for Fizzygoo is good. Hair is long. Life is good. End of high school, Shadowrun is discovered and played (Fizzygoo is now a growing seed of viscous-goodness). Off to college, almost, was a computer mistake, wasn’t supposed to get in. Fought it (they did take my family’s money after all). Got in. Good times. Here, email account met shadowrun forming Fizzygoo, much like Master Shake’s Body with Meatwad’s mind. Only different. Originally Fizzygoo was a character for the online role-playing Shadowrun site of Shadowland.org where Fizzygoo was a ten year-old Otaku. Fizzygoo now ebbs and flows in age. Theater major for less than a semester. English major for the rest of those first four years. Didn’t graduate, decided to take time off. Three years working at a bookstore back in Costa Mesa. Good times. Moved in with my loves. Good times. Time to go back to school. Re-enroll, now double majoring: History on one hand and Physics on the other. Social Science – Physical Science dichotomy. Use my past to get a minor in English. Gradutated. Married. Fizzygoo is still a carbonated viscous liquid energy drink, but he is old, like New Coke, only not like New Coke. Not at all.

My Interests

Alphabetical organization (see below), Blue Blaze Irregular Member, Dungeons & Dragons (oh gods! He’s still into that!?), History (anything before 500 A.D. is modern history), Mathematics (I’m terrible at it, but damn it’s cool once it clicks or “Back off! I’ll differentiate your ass!”), Parentheses (see around), Physics (anything falling at 9.8 m/s^2 hurts), Science (“You, Logan..er Dr. Venkman, are a poor scientist”), Shadowrun (the great coagulator of the universal fluids), Tobacco (a fine pipe is like a pipe with tobacco and plenty of matches), Writing (like novels and stories, a’kay?)

Music:

Louis Armstrong, Beck, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Blind Mellon, Canned Heat, Johnny Cash, Cowboy Bebop, Miles Davis, Doors, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, John Lee Hooker, Robert Johnson, Killers, Led Zepplin, Modest Mouse, Orbital, Pearl Jam, Portishead, Primus, Radiohead, Rayomnd Scott, Red Sparrows, Regina Spektor, Spiritualized, They Might Be Giants, Tom Waits, and best of all Weird Al Yankovic

Movies:

There are generally two types of movie people: Those that identify with the actors and think of all movies as “this or that actor’s” movies. Then there are those that identify with the directors. Unfortunately I tend towards more of the former than the latter which shows a lack of intelligence and something else, but I can’t think of it right now. On to the movies: Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai, Big Chill, Closer, Conan the Barbarian, Dead Man, Fiddler on the Roof, Grand Canyon, Jerk, Pi, Smoke, Strange Brew, Strange Days, Sullivan's Travels, UHF

Television:

Bah! Humbug! I hate television (but who doesn't love Adult Swim?! Sooo Tastey, sooo adtictive, and that blasted Law & Order, grrr)
