I'm a 26 year old Asian American, aka "other". Born in Fresno, CA. Raised all over the place, like Atsugi Japan, Clarksville, Arkansas; Newport News, VA; Greensboro, NC and several points between and elsewhere.
Even though most people have a hard time believing it, I am half Japanese, and extremely proud of it. More specifically extremely proud of having a mother that came to the states, dealt with the racism and ignorance, dealt with not being fluent in English, and putting up with two even more ignorant husbands. Proof the world can beat on you, and you can still rise to the top and prove others wrong.
I'm instilled with an ethic that if you work hard, treat others right you will get your dues. Maybe not at the end of the day or the year, but someday things come around.Things to know about me:
I love biology, conservation, good hip hop, good music in general, I love my dog, I am trying to "learn" how to run (my mom's new husband, a great guy BTW, runs marathons at 60 years old, I get winded at the end of a mile and I'm 26), I like a good vodka tonic with my good friends, I don't know martial arts, I'm not good at math.
I hate all things racist, I hate that I can't dance, or sing or play a musical instrument very well. I can make a killer curry though.
