About Me

::: SMASH BROTHER DJ MIKE BUGOUT ::: Spinning since age 12, Mike Bugout drew early inspiration from local Dj’s Robbie Rob and Frankie Boy (His DJ partner Paulie Feva’s older brother and cousin). Mike came up spinning Freestyle music, which gradually moved into hip hop, r & b and reggae. Spinning with Paulie, the two spun many parties and slowly moved into clubs. Always a fan of dance music, Mike took a liking to house and trance. Such tracks as Johnny Vicious’ dub of “Let’s go all the way” and Plasmic Honey’s “Africa” got him into the club scene.Mike began by playing many upstate NY spots including Donna’s Place, Streets North, Tuxedo Junction, and the Matrix, where he held a Saturday Residency playing for over 1000 people a week. Mike also played NYC hot spots Exit (including the roof top, red room and VIP white room) and Cream. By the summer of 2000, Mike was poised to make his mark on the scene. That summer, NY radio station WLIR ran a contest for its Extreme Groove Afterhours mix show. Mike beat out over 200 contestants to win the contest and aired his own show in August of 2000. Building on this success, Mike continued in his radio work. In the summer of 2001, he joined up with Kiss FM (wpkf, wfpk) in Poughkeepsie to spin every weekday at Noon. The 12 Noon Workout was the best in vocal dance, including Freestyle Fridays. Ending his radio stint in the Spring of 2002, it was time to get back to NYC.In the summer of 2002, Mike got a huge break by entering the finals of a DJ contest at NYC's world famous ROXY. Drawing the biggest reaction from the crowd, Mike went on the headline the main floor of Roxy 6 times from 2002-2003, playing for thousands on a Phazon sound system that slammed! Also in June of 2002, Mike joined on as a resident DJ to an up & coming internet radio station Metro Mix Radio. By mid-summer, he had his own 3 hour Live show where he mixed beats from his studio and through Metro Mix, broadcast all over the globe. Today Mike has continued his show "The Bugout Sessions" on a new station, www.antifmradio.com. The show can be heard every Monday from 4pm-6pm and then again from 10pm-12am. Mike especially enjoys playing to the New Jersey crowd, occasionally playing alongside his good friend Manny the Greek at Club Abyss in Sayverville, NJ. Since then Mike has made his mark in NJ with a residency in the Fall/Winter/Spring 03-04 at Platinum Nightclub in New Brunswick, playing for a packed house each week. In the Summer of 2004, Mike gained a coveted residency at the Jersey Shore's biggest hotspot, Joey Harrison's Surf Club on Sundays. After 17 years of making mixtapes, cd's, playing parties, clubs, mega clubs and radio shows, Mike finally got his biggest break in June of 2007, when R3 Ventures chose him to be the resident DJ of the latest incarnation of Wildlife Wednesdays, the legendary NJ party that Mike had attended for years. Joining forces and immediately bonding with DJ David S, the two known as the "Smash Brothers" can be heard at Deko Lounge every Wednesday playing to a packed house. The summer of 2008 looks promising already with two successful guest appearances at Queens NY hotspot "Krystals" and a huge opportunity opening and closing for trance legend Ferry Corsten at the Surf Club on July 20th. Having graduated from Pace Law School in White Plains, NY (May 2004), Mike is currently a real estate attorney and hopes to one day pursue Entertainment Law, joining his love of music with his study of law. He draws inspiration from such DJ/Producers as, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Cosmic Gate as well as Richie Santana, Peter Bailey, Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez, Denny Tsettos and Manny The Greek, among others.
