About Me

Dr. Kitten is a free gallery, free for all, free to post, and free to tour. The art work here is all original so I encourage all to send me your original work to exchange and possibly sell. It's my belief that if I can organize some great artists under unified themes, we can organize some great shows around the city. The theme's gonna change from time to time, so get inspired and send me your best!

My Interests

The first theme is going to be Summer of 1000 Corpses . That's the living dead, kids, so watch some zombie movies, get inspired, and send me your best zombie-inspired work!

I'd like to meet:

Other artists, especially those that aspire, to trade and/or sell original art with and to hopefully organize some shows with.

Music:

My suggestions have to start with anything by Rob Zombie, of course. But if he's a little too much for you, go with Gorillaz, or some Ladytron numbers that have that sleepy methodic sound. I suggest anything that will inspire the living dead.

Movies:

There are countless movies, but you cant go wrong with the creator George A. Romero: Night Of the Living Dead, Dawn Of the Dead, Day Of the Dead and his newest installments (yawn) Land Of the Dead (sucks) and Diary Of the Dead (eh, kinda predictable). In my humble opinion, if you want something scary, you cant go wrong the Dawn Of the Dead re-make, or 28 Days Later. Speaking of our European neighbors, don't miss the Italian classic Zombi and last, but certainly not least, the UK's finest Shawn of the Dead. There are too many more so I'm gonna leave it at that.

Books:

There's some scary shit in The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection from the Living Dead which contains true accounts of zombie survival. Also check out World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by the same author.

Dr. Holdres medical journal

Dr. Holdre's medical journal is something I found; yes, found. It belonged to my great grandfather who fled to America during the Spanish Civil War. Since he was obviously Spanish, I did a little back...
