About Me

I'm a mommie!

I am addicted to her smile, her giggle, her sweetness, her beauty, her curiosity, even the occasional bad mood or fit is enthralling to me. I love her!

Being a good mother is the most important thing in the world to me. My little girl freaking rocks, she is so adorable and funny and SMART! I love watching her experience new things and helping her to discover the world ...

My Interests

Spending time with my daughter; doing girlie-girl stuff like shopping and pedis and gabbing on the phone; blogging and other forms of writing; live music; reading; watching sports (especially Dodgers, KC Chiefs, OK State); doing yoga and pilates, all my gym classes, traveling to California to see all the friends I miss so much in L.A., and being at the beach. Love animals. Love a good mystery. Love parties. Love going out and dancing on those rare nights off from motherhood. I miss going to the movies, don't do that much these days. Taking pictures. Laughing out loud. Eating pizza. Making French toast. Drinking coffee. Focusing on what's important. Sleeping in is underrated, I miss Mr. Sandman. Appreciating the smaller things is pretty big to me.

I'd like to meet:

Scott Speedman, Chris Nunez, Vin Scully, John Irving, Jesus, Bill Clinton, and Michael Stipe. And hot guys who are smart, dress well, love sports, own a dog and have good taste in music. That would be fanfreakingtastic.

Music:

Jane's Addiction (I Would 4 U is the greatest song of all time), REM, Radiohead, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Incubus, Beastie Boys, Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, Soundgarden, Mazzy Star, Rachael Yamagata, Aimee Mann, Dido, Trespassers William, Goldfrapp, Coldplay, The Fray, Snow Patrol, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Sr., The The, Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Pete Yorn, Travis, James, Franz Ferdinand, classical music.

Movies:

Casablanca! I love classic films especially film noirs (Out of the Past) and Hitchcock movies, (North by Northwest, Rear Window and Vertigo are the best). James Bond (Sean Connery!). Some chick flicks, i.e., When Harry Met Sally. Office Space is my all-time favorite cult classic.

Television:

I have MLB pass and I could watch baseball all day long and never get bored, particularly the Dodgers! Love MIAMI INK, and now L.A. INK! Pretty much anything on PBS; Poirot; Midsomer Murders, any British mystery! Antiques Roadshow; Family Guy; South Park, and Sesame Street. Felicity episodes on DVD because I am Scott Speedman's personal stalker. And I am a recent convert to Dog the Bounty Hunter. So bad it's good... I listen to the radio a lot, particularly NPR and Jim Rome.

Books:

We love them at our house!

Who is John Galt?
Authors: John Irving, Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, A.S. Byatt, Martin Amis, Nick Hornby, Salinger, Virginia Woolf, Fitzgerald, Hemingway, Ayn Rand, A.A. Milne, Walker Percy, Agatha Christie, just give me a book and I'm happy.

Now I Lay Her Down to Sleep

Well, I finally did it. I don't blame those of you who were skeptical. I, too, had my doubts. But for one entire month my sweet Juliette has been sleeping, like a very big girl, in her crib, with her ...

Because Every Princess Needs a Throne ...

On average, a parent changes between 4,000 to 8,000 diapers, depending upon the child. Those days are coming to an end. I realized that if Juliette could scrunch up her little face, turn red, and anno...

Comfortably Numb

I like being comfortable as much as the next girl. I own several pairs of flip flops. I have ponytail holders in nearly every room because I just never know when these tresses have to be pulled back. ...

The Weight of Love

When I was pregnant, two thoughts primarily occupied my mind (beyond that of the natural desire for a healthy child). One, what would she look like? Who would she resemble? I would picture my face, M...

Three Not-So-Little Words

Words have always fascinated me. I love language, the way it sounds to hear something said, the way it feels to say it. I gobble up words with my eyes, my ears, my mouth. Talking, reading, writing, j...
