Grinroth

Grinroth, a black/death metal band hailing from Groningen (Netherlands) was started by Roelof (vocals) and Martin (guitars). From the early beginning of the band, until it's ultimate demise mid-2006, the band tried to write music that strayed from the conventional metal that was being played by a lot of bands in the Netherlands at the time.
After some time with lots of line-up changes the band found a stable line-up and could start working on a set of songs.
For quite some time Grinroth was completely focused on rehearsing, a lot of fun, and a live gig once in a while. Due to different reasons guitarplayer Erwin Greven quit the band in 2004. Grinroth decided to continue with the four remaining members. Each member had a lot of influence on the musical writing process, from technical death metal like Immolation to cold norwegian black metal influences. A technical and a little experimental mix marked their musical style.
After guitarplayer Erwin Greven left, Grinroth made a new start. A renewed and better website, a new bandlogo and the longawaited promo was released. This CD was recorded in march 2005 in the Soundlodge studio's of Jorg Uken and has 3 songs on it. It was to be the band's first and last studio output.
Nowadays, the members of the band are or will be active in the following musical activities:

Roelof - will probably form a black metal oriented band in the near future

Martin - plays guitar in death/grind band Rasawr and records all sorts of musical stuff at home for his own pleasure

Jasper - plays bass in death/grind band Grindminded

Joris - plays drums in epic battle metal band Elexorien
