Music, Music, Music...
I've never been a crazy fan of anybody that I can think of, but I really am on a Switchfoot kick right about now. I love anything that's well done and has a great melodies and harmonies. I love Motown-- the old school stuff, soul and soundtracks. I'm also a pretty big "triple-A" fan I guess; Billy Joel, James Taylor, Nicole Nordeman, Phil Collins. And of course, I'm a bit biased about
www.myspace.com/myersbrothersband.
Movies, Movies, Movies:
The Dark Crystal, ET, The Indiana Jones Trilogy, Sneakers, Usual Suspects, Shawshank, The Secret of Nimh, Newer flicks I've enjoyed: Moulin Rouge,The Incredibles, Pirates of.., Lord of the Rings (of course), In America is amazing, The Passion, Narnia, I love animated movies, action-adventure, fantasy...great dramas with poignant messages...and especially anything with lush visuals where it's obvious that the production design/art direction/CGI caused the artists to 'bleed' over their work. Classics I love: Citizen Kane, Singin' in the Rain...
TELEVISION?
If JJ Abrams wrote it, I'll watch it -- other than that...I'm pretty picky. I enjoy the Discovery Channel immensely...love the series Planet Earth...used to be a croc hunter fan before he moved on, rest his soul. Lost, 24, Alias, CSI on occasion.
Books, Books, Books:
I've been having a love affair with books since I was kid. I'm told that I used to sleep with a Childcraft Encyclopedia under my pillow at night.
Madeline L'Engle's "Walking on Water," "A Wrinkle in Time," John Eldredge's "Wild at Heart," Stephen King's "On Writing," Calvin Miller's "The Singer," EB White's "Elements of Style," and "Charlotte's Web," and Frank Peretti's "This Present Darkness." Bulgakov's "The Master and Margarita"
That'd definitely be Dad and Mom. I think my wife, D'Lytha, falls in this catagory as well. Jesus Christ and Ron Paul make the list as well.
