[Thorpe is] one of those people who sees life for what it is, its joys, its sorrows, its laughs, and its sighs. He brings out the truth of this place. Listen to just one of his songs, and somehow you feel like you understand a deeper, more real meaning to this journey. Catch a show and stumble upon an experience that somehow leaves you a better person. That’s Jimmy Thorpe. He will make you laugh. He will make you cry. He will make you mad. And, he will make you smile. He’s an experience. With soulful songs that capture the heart of seemingly all matters, Thorpe writes from something you and I must not have. He sees the wisdom, the stupidity, the rational, and the irrational in places where I might not even think to look. He’s just got “it.” I don’t mean to say he has a hold on life better than you or I, but when you hear his lyrics you quickly understand what “it” means. “It” is the way the complex simplicity of life seems to make sense. “It” is how you can be brought to tears during a song about laughter. “It” is how you find anger during a song about love. “It” is really nothing I can adequately explain. “It” is just Jimmy. He’s kind of like life: complex, but simple.

I love writing songs. Most of all, I enjoy the conversation of music. In the lyric, we can speak to one another as friends who need to catch up or enemies looking to reconcile. In the lyric, we are family and loved ones sharing the same experience. Sometimes we take the opportunity to speak directly to God or even on His behalf or simply to His renown.
a little more about me:
Born and raised in Tennessee, One of five brothers and sisters,
Parents are still in love and together, 10 nieces and nephews,
I am happily married to my wife Kim, and have no children (yet).
I truly am a dork. I love comic books and sci-fi, reading, visual art, recording music, movies, being creative, making Kim laugh, stand-up comedy, having dinner with friends, aimless driving and road trips. I also love leading God's people in worship, teaching, learning about God, seeking and finding, and learning I'll never learn it all; which is just fine with me.
