1991 in Görlitz unter dem Projektnamen "The Dorian Gray" gegründet. Veröffentlichung mehrerer Demokassetten im Freundeskreis.

1994 aus persönlichen Gründen eingestellt.

2007 Reaktivierung unter dem Projektnamen "Verney 1826".

"Verney 1826" has been born from the ashes of a german dark wave project called "The Dorian Gray", which produced some low-fi cassettes between 1991 and 1994.

Years after the project finally broke up, the mind behind "The Dorian Gray" decided to recreate his own vision of dark music.

Influenced from the beginning by bands like “Das Ich”, “Current 93”, “Dead Can Dance” and the gothic tales of Mrs Shelley and Mr Poe, "Verney 1826" still follows the path to combine dark melodies and gothic settings.
