My fake plants died because I did not pretend to water them.

About Me

Okay, first things first. For all that don't know, my name is Robert. I am 24 and I am a student (still) at Texas A&M University - Kingsville.
I am an alumnus of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from Rockford/Loves Park, Illinois. I was a member in the summers of 2002 and 2004. I was a member in 2003, but financial setbacks did not let me finish (or even begin) the summer. That summer I marched with the Revolution Drum and Bugle Corps from San Antonio, Texas. In college, I play lead trumpet in our top Jazz Band, where I have had the privelage to share the stage with Bob Mintzer, Maynard Ferguson and His Big Bop Nouveau, Claudio Roditi and Wayne Bergeron.
I am a golf nut. Really, I just love to try to be active. Golf, racquetball, bowling, darts, billiards, baseball/softball, bike riding, even swimming; I just like being active. I really want to learn to rollerblade. Tried it once when I was 10, and never got the hang of it. But I love to play poker.
Um, I'm not that savvy with this whole MySpace thingie; that's why my profile looks so bland. I'm up for anyone's help and/or code sharing. Let's see ... um ... well, that's about it. If you want to know anything else, just ask. ... that's all it takes.

My Interests

Golf, raquetball, Texas Hold 'Em, all other sorts of poker, darts, Drum Corps, bowling, underwater basket weaving, underwater fire prevention, Tiger Woods '04 '05' and '06, fishing, "collecting CDs" (all you TAMUK music guys know what I'm talking about), other stuff too - I just can't remember them right now. If some of the KKPsi prospectives want to help me remember, that would be more than welcome. Comment if you get the following joke.

I'd like to meet:

Tiger Woods, Harry Connick Jr., Mike Buble, Roger Ingram, Wynton Marsalis, Angelina Jolie, Peter Griffin, Dave Chappelle, Carlos Mencia, Earth Wind and Fire, Chicago, Ella Fitzgerald Griffin, etc. More to come later.

Music:

Okay, so I'm into music and stuff. I'm surrounded by it all of the time. Further more, I can't listen to any piece of music without being critical. Anyway, onward.

Jazz Artists, Bands, Composers, and Arrangers: Wynton Marsalis, Clifford Brown, Nicholas Payton, Stan Kenton, Dave Brubeck, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Harry Connick Jr. and his band, Michael Buble and his band, the late Maynard Ferguson and his Big Bop Nouveau, Patrick Hession, Arturo Sandoval, Airmen of Note, UNT One O'Clock Lab Band, UNC Jazz Lab Band I, Matt Cattingub, Pat Metheny, Gordon Goodwin, Wayne Bergeron, Dallas Jazz Orchestra, Galen Jeter, Bob Curnow's L.A. Big Band, Bobby Shew, Allen Vizzutti, Dan Gailey, Rick Margitza, Steve Weist, Eric Richards, ; including latin jazz: Tito Puente, Poncho Sanchez, Cubanissmo.

Funk/Soul: Tower of Power, Earth Wind and Fire. I don't know where to put Chicago, so I'm putting them here. They have a good feel, which is why I call it soul. I'd have to put the local bands Myndfields and Livon here cause they have a good feel and groove in any style of music that they play.

Classical Artists, Bands, Composers: Wynton Marsalis, Maurice Andre, Rafael Mendez, Allen Vizzutti, Phil Smith, Adolph "Bud" Herseth, Brian Hickman, Chris Martin, Dallas Wind Symphony, United States Marine Corps Band "The President's Own", Canadian Brass, Boston Brass, Summit Brass, American Brass Quintet, Dmitri Shostakovich, Frederic Chopin, Aaron Copland, Richard Wagner, Igor Stravinsky, Gustav Mahler, etc. More here to come later.

Drum Corps and such: Phantom Regiment, Blue Devils, Santa Clara Vanguard, The Cavaliers, Madison Scouts, The Cadets; the old Blast! company, United States Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps "The Commandant's Own".

Latin: This genre is a wide variety including Mariachi, Tejano, and music to that effect. So here it goes. The Beto Leal Orchestra is my favorite local Tejano band. On a more global note there's Ramon Ayala, The Royal Jesters, Latin Breed, Ruben Ramos and the Texas Revolution, Little Joe y la Familia, Perez Prado, Fito Olivarez, Roberto Pulido, Isidro Lopez, Rene Rene, Jay Perez, etc.

Rock and that variety: I have recently grown an appreciation for this genre. The bands I've heard of are: Panic! at the Disco, Nickelback, Fall Out Boy, All American Rejects, Simple Plan, Yellowcard, Bloodhound Gang, Click 5, etc. I'll name more here later.

Movies:

Spaceballs and all of the Mel Brooks movies (if they ever would have made Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money, it would have been a huge hit), AIRPLANE! and AIRPLANE! 2, ALL three Naked Gun flicks, Three Amigos, All of the Police Academy Flicks, Hot Shots I and II, Full Metal Jacket, Stripes, National Lampoon's Vacation, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Vegas Vacation, The Bad News Bears, Caddyshacks I and II, The 40-Year Old Virgin, Animal House, Revenge of the Nerds I and II, All three of the Friday films, Men of Honor, Murder at 1600, Air Force One, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, The DaVinci Code, more to come.

Television:

Mind of Mencia, Seinfeld, CSI, WSOP, college football, The Simpsons, American Dad, Family Guy, Everybody Loves Raymond, Leno, Letterman, Conan, ... you know, comedies. Drew Carey, Comedy Central Stand-Up ... As you can see by the Bob Barker pic (he's the man, by the way) Price is Right is the all time best. Here's the famous "Aristocrats" joke as told by Bob Saget and friends.

Heroes:
