Subtlety is my middle name

About Me

They think they can tame you, name you and frame you, aim you where you don't belong, they know where you've been but not where you're going. And that is the source of the songs. (John Gorka - Flying Red Horse )
I'm originally from Germany and went to States for the first time in 2000 and had some kind of life-changing experience at a folk festival , met lots of cool people who make me realize what was fundamentally wrong with me life back "home".
This trip wasn't a one-time occurrence at all - several trips followed in the subsequent years making more friends in the U.S. When I realized that I "talked" more with my American friends online than with people locally offline on a regular basis I knew there was something fundamentally wrong.
All my life, I've had doubts about who I am and where I belonged. Now I'm like the arrow that springs from the bow. No hesitation, no doubts. The path is clear. (Jeffrey Sinclair - War without end)
Fast forward: I won a U.S. green card last year, broke up my household, quit my job in Germany and moved to the Boston area recently - starting over. My moving to the U.S. wasn't actually that long ago but it feels like ages; already like another life...
Without music I wouldn't come through (Shawn Colvin)
I'm a bad case of a music addict, usually buy too many CDs (sometimes don't know where to put them. See photo :) and not even Sauron himself could keep me away from my favorite music venue...
In the depths of the deep blue sea, there's a blue as blue as me, where a quiet symphony plays for the lonely. I could just let it all go, sink down to the world below where I don't breathe but I don't know cause I'm breathless (Lori McKenna - Pour)
I feel a relentlessly militant empathy for all outcasts, outsiders and people who usually don't fit in.
Btw I don't plan on using the myspace blog feature super-frequently (apart from myspace related stuff and interesting/funny linkage) since I maintain a blog at folktraveler . But I'll syndicate some of my lj stuff here :D
