Lynette grew up in the high desert of New Mexico and brings to her music the fiery passion of her Mexican-American roots, along with a sense of adventure forged from years living abroad, including three continents before migrating to New Zealand.
2007 turned out to be a personal watershed year of breakthrough and growth for Lynette. Coming out in mid-life and ending a 19-year marriage, Lynette chose to resonate with her personal truths, which translated into writing, singing, and performing with a newfound passion built on a foundaition of honesty and self-respect.
My Life today revolves around my Children and my Music. Both motivate me to look beyond myself, and to keep growing. Children and Music are Universal bridges of our past, present and future._______________
Released in September 2008, the 14-tracks on Lynette's debut CD, ‘Lyrics In My Head’ are a testament to a long journey of self-discovery, and resonates with the Universal pangs of heartbreak, loss, growth, new-found clarity, love and joy.
"My music is personal, but I believe the messages are Universal. Each song is heart-driven, by which I mean that I never pick up a guitar with the intention to write a certain way or a certain theme. The songs happen, no force of will. If it's not happening, then I know it's not meant to be written.
The songs on 'Lyrics In My Head' tend to have a positivity about them. Even those about heartbreak, pain and loss. I think it's due to the fact that my general outlook on life is positive, and somehow that comes out in the music I write. I know that all these emotions mean I'm alive, good or bad, and the songs are somehow, maybe on a subconscious level, allowing me to see solutions."
