SINNER LANE CHANGED THEIR NAME TO ANOTHER KILLER AFTERNOON.VISIT US AT MYSPACE.COM/ANOTHERKILLERAFTERNOON
Sinner Lane was born in the summer of 2003 with the help of karaoke, beer, and the good fortune to have been singing karaoke and drinking beer in the same place at the same time. Shortly thereafter, the band found the nearest cozy mortuary to setup shop as their rehearsal studio and began writing songs.
Enthusiasm swelled within the band and eventually grew exponentially when each member realized that one could empty the Pacific Ocean with a 5-gallon bucket sooner than the songs would stop flowing. What does this mean for the band? It means that Sinner Lane has the uncommon luxury of picking from a current list of more than 25 songs that cover many sub-genres (i.e. straight up hard rock, acoustic based ballads, ambient prog-rock inspired songs, etc). This wide selection of original material allows the band to play out frequently at virtually any venue conducive to modern rock with little overlap from set to set.
Having worked in the Arizona music scene for many years, the band of twenty-somethings has cultivated a network of bands, promoters, venues, managers and most importantly, fans. In the past 18 months alone, Sinner Lane has appeared publicly more than 40 times, including a performance in front of 5,000 bobbing heads while opening for the Kotton Mouth Kings at Tempe’s Marquee Theater.
After recording their self-titled EP at Mesa, AZ’s Mind’s Eye Studios with Larry Elyea (Bionic Jive and A Cry For Help), Sinner Lane has distributed more than 3,000 units. Furthermore, Sinner Lane has been seen multiple times in Arizona State University’s West Express newspaper and can be seen nearly every week in the New Times. Combine that with grassroots distribution channels in Phoenix, AZ., Idaho Falls, ID and Seattle, WA, the word of Sinner Lane is continuing its spread far and wide.
Style of music we play
If you ask any member of Sinner Lane what style the band plays, they will tell you the same thing: The ultimate goal of the band is to create culturally relevant, radio friendly modern rock music that has a broad appeal. Drawing heavily from it’s influences, the band tweaks it’s songs by adding a mix of acoustic guitars, loud distorted guitars, heavy hitting drums, thick bass sounds, and melodic vocals. The result is the creation of a sound that is good ol' fashion modern hard rock with the added twist of yesteryear and days long gone.P.S.
