Miss Maya

Mayism (aka Miss Maya) is quickly becoming one of Toronto's new musical gems. She is a unique blend of Jazz/Soul/House and Classical reflecting her equaly unique ethnic background (Asian and Latino). Over the past few years she has been steadily carving out a name for herself as a versatile and talented performer and studio musician.................................................... ............................................................ ......................................................As a violinist she has travelled worldwide as both a soloist and chamber player all before the age of 15. She now is the head of her own Quartet and Chamber group based out of Toronto featuring her own compositions and arrangments of both classical and jazz music....................................................... ............................................................ ............................................................ .........In only a few short years on the Toronto scene she has already worked with some of North America's best (Rev. Kenny Bobien, DJ Mark Farina, DJ Kerri Chandler, United Soul, God Made Me Funky, Tom Phoolery, Classic Albums Live, Opinion, Ms. Davis, Wade O. Brown, The BrownMan, Robi Botos, Plan C, Dylan Murray, The Brampton Symphony Orchestra, The Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra, MINT) both live and in the studio. Her vocals have been described as "Captivating, strong and complex". She is currently the first lady of Toronto's Disco house sensation King Sunshine (www.kingsunshine.com) in addition to freelancing (on vocals and violin) around Ontario.
