About Me

What star sign are you? Introducing the new star of the zodiac, THE SAGITTARIAN. Described as “an enigma wrapped in a mystery” with “raw, uplifting beats” this name is what will be on everyone’s lips.
29 year old vocalist/composer, The Sagittarian looks to diverse musical influences in his fusion of retro, pop, techno and rock music. With such artists as Prince, Timbaland, Michael Jackson, JT and Enigma to call on for inspiration, his music stands out from the crowd with its poetic sound in the vocals and rocking, mood boosting beats.
The Sagittarian’s interest in music came at an early age. He is self taught on various instruments and was amongst the first to be making quality music using a basic home PC computer. This is where he produced his first hit,”Liferider”.
Liferider reached the top of its game on MP3.com in 2000 and was voted the number one most downloaded dance track in Australasia that year. Liferider featured along with ten of The Sagittarian’s other songs in all six of the performance car DVD’s titled “High Octane”. High Octane was directed by The Sagittarian and was the number one selling DVD in the country upon every release, 4 years running.
It was in 2006 that he decided to get back into music full time. What followed was the release of Karma Killer (ft Mikey Rockwell) in 2007. This track stands as further proof of his consummate musical artistry with the music video for Karma Killer reaching the top 20 most played music videos on Juice TV within three weeks. The video also earned itself a nomination at the Juice TV music awards and won the Wellington Fringe festival Knack Award.
The Sagittarian’s second single ‘Insane’ was a brave new sound of Pop, Dub and House. After some negotiations with Sony BMG UK, The Sagittarian received approval to sample from Finley Quaye’s – ‘Maverick A Strike’. Remixes of Insane include top New Zealand dance producers Greg Churchill and Dick Johnson (aka Magik Johnson). The song sparked off a lot of attention amongst private investors due to which The Sagittarians record label, ‘Moonlight Sounds’, was formed.
The Sagittarian has very big plans and a knock out debut album on the back burner. He is not afraid to produce styles that push music forward and into new places, without having to conform to a specific genre. The Sagittarian’s highly anticipated début album is due out 2008.
